I was hoping to get mine before MTTS, likely be a while before another one starts as far north as Burlington, VT. ETA at my dealership is July 6, that’s cutting it close!

You could go to MINIS at the Glen on August 13th.

I’ve done I-81/90 in the 2006 smart cabrio a whole bunch of times to visit friends in Erie, PA, usually scheduled around Beer On The Bay! Gonna have a look at PlugShare and ABRP now…

Ok sorry for the OT, but I just registered for the MINIs at the Glen event! We should start an events thread if there isn’t one already, and maybe pin it? I’ll likely book the parade lap and Sunday drive once I know my August schedule at work in about two weeks’ time. Heading to PlugShare and ABRP after supper!

Five charging stops on the 401 and I-81, 90 minutes added to the usual 5h20, getting me to the winery on 30% SOC. Quick math suggests around $26 of DCFC to go 295 miles. Not bad at all.

I've finally seen an SE in the wild (as opposed to the dealer's lot). I've had my SE for 11 months, without seeing one on the streets. This one was a BRG with a white roof and white stripes. Very nice looking. Just like mine except for the stripes. I may have to look into that.

I soo want to do Minis at the Glen but I would be pretty low when I got there. I’d have to sit at Tops and charge at 6kW for many hours before and after the event. I cannot wait for EVolve NY to build their DC chargers there!

There’s an Evolve DCFC in Geneva if coming from the north, about 17 miles from the check-in at the winery, and a further 23 miles to the track.

Sighted a black SE with a white roof today at about 5:45 pm. In Santa Clara on Lawrence Expressway south, getting onto the 280S on-ramp. Was it someone on this board?

Yes there is. But I’d have to make it 40 miles to the Glen and 40 miles back to Geneva. Even charging to full, that doesn’t leave me with much to play with at the track.

Yeah I’m trying to figure it out as well, maybe I’ll drive down Friday and stay in the Glen overnight at the Idlewild or Harbor Inn.

Saw my 2nd SE today and it was my twin! It was right outside my wife's work so for a split second I was really confused why she was driving my car!

Sighted first Mini Se today, other than mine. Been looking since last December. Not many if these in Chicagoland

Wow - I would expect you to see them more often in Chicago! I'm in a much smaller market in Greenville, SC, and have still only seen one other SE 'in the wild' in a year and a half.

I know of four others in the western suburbs of Montreal, and there are probably many more. I’ve already had meetups with two of the other drivers (strangely, both told me their wives owned the MINIs, but they drive them at every opportunity!).

Yesterday, I not only got to see another SE, but I actually modified it without the owner being present and didn't get into trouble!

After getting an email OK from Kate, the owner of the SE down the street from me, I walked down and replaced her stolen antenna with the one that came with my SE (I have MINI's Sport Aerial Rod now). Working mostly from home these days, she's been putting only 1,000 miles a year on her SE and doesn't have a garage or other convenient place to plug in the L1 charging cord! Instead, she drives downtown to the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market and plugs into one of the free L2 solar charging stations there. She takes the 20-minute walk home and returns later after her SE is fully charged. As you can imagine, that charge lasts Kate a long time. As such an infrequent driver, the MINI SE is a perfect fit--she never has to worry about the gas in her previous MINI's tank going stale.

One of these days I’ll wing down to DTW and we’ll have a meet-up at Zingerman’s, and then head to a game at the Big House, then find a Buddy’s or Luigi’s Original before I head back. ;)

I can relate to that, in a different way. When I bought my first Mini, my (then) girlfriend was furious (without explanation). But, she liked to drive it. Go figure.

I'm eating a sandwich I made with Zingerman's bread at this very instant. Metro Airport (DTW) is about 30 miles from west Ann Arbor, but we could use the solar charging station near the Farmer's Market when we go to Zingermans for lunch (although at lunchtime, both EVSEs might already be in use).
