  1. That's great to hear! My car should be here early next month assuming there isn't any major delays with transit. I'm just going to start referring to my power spokes as the Covid wheels.

Saw a 2020-21 BRG SE on the move in my large-ish Midwestern city. (It might be the same one I've seen parked at a factory I pass on my commute.)

Me with a fellow Electric Collection that I see around lots. Not my style, but he told me it was a dealer build and was on the lot so at least he didn't have to wait 4 months to get it

I just realized today how subtle the 22+ SE really is, only recognizing it by the enthusiastic thumbs up and the yellow badge on the back. A beautiful chilli red. Must have seen a dozen ICE MINI this afternoon, but this one made my day. See you around neighbor!

Saw an Island Blue SE Electric Collection by Nicollet Island in Minneapolis today. Went by pretty fast and wasn't sure at first, but the multitone roof was distinctive, plus the yellow badge on the back. Really nice-looking model.

FINALLY!!! Saw my first in-person real world SE going north on I-680, I honked a couple times as I passed him, but couldn't get his attention... It's pretty sad how excited this made me, glad I'm no longer alone in the area! :)

Don't be sad about getting excited when you spy an SE in the wild! I still get excited when I see the MINI Cooper SE that has lived down the street for more than a year.

A few minutes ago I had just parked on Liberty St. in downtown Ann Arbor when I heard the unmistakable sound of a MINI Cooper SE driving by. I quickly abandoned my hard-found parking spot and zoomed out to get behind a BRG SE with white stripes stopped at the Fourth Ave. stoplight.

I beeped my horn and the BRG SE's driver thrust his arm high in the air with the thumbs-up sign. It's always a thrill to hear and see another one of these wonderful cars! Fortunately, I found another parking spot just around the corner, so it was two wins for me and a win for the BRG SE's driver.

I have to get the 2006 smart fortwo ready for sale, and it’s been sitting on the driveway too long, so I unplugged the trickle-charger, dropped the top, and took it for a spin around the neighbourhood. It was so long that I’d forgotten how much fun that lil beast is to drive!

I got to the light at the main road and saw an SE so I followed it, and it turned into the Lowes nearby. I pulled up next to it and parked. The driver was a stylish, slim guy in his late 50s or early 60s, and when he got out we struck up a conversation about the MINI… We talked for FORTY FIVE MINUTES! :D:D:D

It’s their second MINI but first electric car. They also own a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek (like us)!! He was incredibly enthusiastic about the SE, and genuinely excited for me to get mine. We talked all about the car, the charging, the driving, the quality, and more… I almost couldn’t get him to stop talking! He was super chatty — almost like he was on something, but I think more that he was excited that somebody wanted to chat about cars. He and his wife own a salon at the corner of the main road and freeway (I’ve seen the MINI there a bunch of times), and he said, “You owe me a visit when you get yours!”… :)

This is technically also a mini cooper electric.

Haven't seen these out in the wild though. Sometimes I feel like all of us mini SE buyers are just getting grownup versions of this.

I'm glad I only had to remove the fake hood scoop from my electric MINI Cooper because it didn't come with fake exhaust pipes.

I have a future MINI SE sighting to report.

A couple days ago, around dinnertime, I get an unexpected ring at my doorbell. It's a couple who live a couple blocks away. I had never met them before, but they introduced themselves as living down the street.

The wife is super-excited to see my MINI SE in the driveway. As it turns out, she had just ordered one online two days ago. She ordered it sight unseen (none to test drive at the local dealer), and she says they were even out of ICE MINIs to test drive.

    She had so many questions:
-Do I like it? Any complaints?
    -What's my real-world range?
-Can it be charged at any public charger?
-How long does it take to charge?
-Does it have enough pep and pickup?
-How does the tax credit work?
-How long it it take to get the car build and delivered?

We talked for about 30 minutes, and I gave her as much useful information as possible. This is her first EV. Her daily driver is a 2012 ICE MINI, and she is happy with that, so I'm sure she will be happy with her new ride when she gets it. Her husband suggested she buy something more 'upscale' (i.e. Tesla Model 3), but she insisted on the MINI. Good for her!

I estimate she will get her Moonwalk Gray Sig 2.0 in October. I'll have regular sightings then!

2012 MINI is 2nd generation, she's going to love the SE since it's based on the 3rd generation. Especially if she isn't driving an S model. You should consider offering to let her test drive yours.

I came back from lunch and saw another BRG SE in the parking lot. Naturally I had to park next to him!

Full disclosure - it belongs to a friend. I actually helped him make up his mind by letting him drive mine and talking about living with an EV. I was just excited to see his car - he normally works from home.

Ok so I haven't spotted another SE....YET! However, about a week before my MINI was due to arrive at NYCPOA I was chosen for jury duty and as the group was waiting around during a break I was excitedly talking about the impending arrival of my new SE. Another jury member started asking me a bunch of questions about the SE. Long story short, we exchanged contact info and I connected with him after I'd been able to drive my SE around for a couple weeks. I met up with him and his wife for a test drive last weekend....they immediately went home afterward and ordered/put a deposit on a new SE! I'd say I did a good job of talking up the SE, but I think Buzz did all the selling needed. ;)

So in a few months there will be another SE in my small Upstate NY city that is currently chock-full-of Teslas and Bolts. I also told him about this forum, so if you're reading this, "hi!"

How far “upstate”?? Maybe we can have a meet-up after I take delivery and begin to get adventurous with long-distance drives.

Finger Lakes! Maybe an ADK get-together between the upstaters and the Canadians on this forum would be fun!
