saw my first SE in downtown Ashland, Oregon, but may have been visiting for Shakespeare or traveling thru. Happy that it looked so good, since mine coming next month looks just like it.
The day after I spotted a pack of 3 in the wild (actually 3 lone wolves), I spotted a different one altogether. There are at least 4 within 2-3 miles from me. Seems like the density is increasing. Hoping to get an SE rule #1 some day.
Everyone in the Detroit area who tuned into Channel 7 News tonight got to see my MINI Cooper SE at today's rainy Drive Electric Week gathering of EVs in Ann Arbor. I enjoyed meeting a future SE owner whose car is on the Don Carlos, waiting for Halifax to recover from hurricane Fiona before it finally makes its way to the US and his driveway. I believe there will be at least two MINI Cooper SEs at the next Drive Electric Week event after my new friend receives his. There were about 20 EVs at today's event. Of course, most of them were Teslas. One Model S had nearly 300,000 miles on the odo, and being an older model, its owner has never paid to use a Tesla Supercharger. Three of the cute Fiat 500e cars showed up. You can see the one Kia Niro EV next to my solitary SE. I saw my first BMW i4 M50 there--the owner was at last year's Drive Electric Week event with his new Mustang Mach-E but he sold it after it broke down too many times. A Kia EV6 made an appearance late in the event. A Rivian pickup drove through the parking lot, but never stopped!
There are definitely a lot of SE’s where I’m from in Vancouver. I’m on the road in the city quite a bit.. but I see probably about 10-15 on a given week. None are enthusiasts though so I don’t get any waves back Here is my SE next to a white silver though Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
It’s weird, eh @simplex123 ? I wave at every MINI on a daily basis, and I have yet to get a wave back — even from drivers of very obviously individualized or modded cars. The same thing happened over the years with the smart: at first, the turbo diesel 2005 to 2006 model was such a novelty that every smart owner felt like they were in a club; but as time went on and the next generation gasoline version took over, it was like they were all driving Jeep Patriots instead of Wranglers, and couldn’t give two sihts about some “community.” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Only at the dealer, so far. Mine arrived with 2 SE siblings, all were green! I've seen a video on YouTube of another SE not far from me, but haven't seen it IRL yet. I recognised the strip mall.
Anyone else in LA / SoCal? I've seen a red one in my neighborhood a few times, but never got the wave back...
Next time you see a SE red without waving throw on him a egg a guy must be blind or distracted depressed or Everything else to be not happy with SE .Bling on him high beam .
Close: OC I've seen about 5 SEs on the road, and I've never had the chance to waive (always flying by in the opposite direction).
@ghost Maybe I'll catch you down there some time! I am in orange regularly as a good friend has a driveway and shop space I don't have in the city here.
interesting. I don't see that many in Toronto area. I do wish to bring mine to Vancouver. But i guess that driving there with it will be out of question with the current infrastructure. Anyway, i guess that it make sense. Vancouver area people are richer. They have more taste, thus are not all Teslas.
