The waistline trim and the door handles look black in the photos @SpeedyRS posted from the configurator.

Ah.
When I go to the Mini UK site and configure it looks silver to me.
Ditto. I tried that too. Are miles shorter in the UK than USA? Mini UK site says range is 141.

My salesman is waiting for blue to be added to his configurator, then he can put my order in. So I guess red and green etc. can go in now.

The UK site doesn't quote the range achieved using the EPA's more stringent test protocols. The Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (for some reason abbreviated WLTP) used in Europe always comes up with greater range estimates than the EPA.

And more accurate, based on all the GOM posts on here.

Interesting! I like the more muted green color, but not a huge fan of all the other trim features. BRG is just a little too bright green for me (I currently have an Estoril Blue with brown leather interior, so go figure!)

I like the Electric blue, but the brown leather is a little too orange for my liking. If they'd had gray leather as an option I would've gone with that, but the SE I test drove was black leatherette and didn't feel at all like it was too dark inside. I'm interested to see the Electric interior trim, I figured that would break up the black on black on black piano trim. It seemed like a nice e-version of carbon fiber. If my dealer ever tells me my SE is ready to be picked up I'll let you know!

I think that's probably one of the better things with the Electric Collection is the interior aluminum trim instead of fingerprint/dust magnet piano black. The cloth+leatherette is plenty comfortable even with the lack of lumbar adjustments.

Estoril Blue II was one of my all time favorite colors for BMW. Tanzanite Blue II looks great too!

The Electric Collection didn't come with the "Electric" interior surface trim?

I believe my salesperson said you can chose aluminum surface trim on the '23s. I went with the electric surface option though.

Not sure for 2023 ordering but I'm pretty sure the Electric Collection came in aluminum trim in 2022 and piano black on the Shadow Edition Maybe the aluminum trim is available on Level 2/3 now?

How durable is the piano black (plastic?) versus the aluminum (actual metal?) trim?
i have 80k on my '08 1series, and the piano black is fine. I also don't wipe it with stuff that will leave micro scratches, and don't let anything in a car wash touch any of my cars.

You can always put wax or hybrid ceramic on piano black but it may not help with those in very sunny locations. Paint protection film is also possible but you would have to remove the trim to hide the edges. Aluminum is also prone to dents if you are not careful, especially the smooth door trims on the MINI.

I hadn't though about dents in the aluminum. Any folks with the "electric surface" have any input on it's shape after a while of ownership?

Not for me. I’ve only got over 100 miles range once so far.
100 miles displayed or 100 miles driven?

From what I've read on here, the display is overly pessimistic and underestimates range by quite a bit. I haven't driven enough in one day to get below 50% charge, and I doubt I'll ever test to see how far I can go on a single charge.

I may well be wrong about this but I thought the Collection dash trim was also plastic, it’s just the colour description that was aluminium? There are a few Collection owners here who can put me right on this.

Getting the most range requires slow city driving speeds paired with regen opportunities. Someone in another EV group managed to get 300 km (185 miles) in their Cooper SE. That's on the extreme end of things.

Electric Collection dash is a textured crosshatch-like aluminum trim and the doors are smooth aluminum. I had aluminum hexagon on a prior BMW and it held up really well. The dinged up smooth aluminum trim on the loaner BMW, not so much.

100 miles driven. I once calculated a theoretical range of 109 after doing about 90 actual miles in the car. That’s in mid mode. I may get more in green+ but unless I need to eek out a few more miles on a longer trip I don’t ever plan on using green+, or even green mode. I did a trip in green mode once driving like a saint’s grandmother and almost bored myself to death.
I disregard the GOM which never shows over 100 miles on a full charge. I have only covered fewer than 500 miles in the 6 weeks I’ve had it and it has been a wet and windy winter so far, so there’s time for improvement when summer comes and the rain gets a bit warmer.
