Dealer just informed me that no more 2022 Mini Cooper SE are being produced

Dealer confirmed no charges for paint options. The $550 listed is apparently an error in their pre-build for the '23 (maybe exclusive to the Iconic Trim? I dunno).

I did find it interesting that he thought it could be an April build/May Delivery timeline... Seems a bit optimistic to me.
My dealer told me 3-6 months so I've set my expectation for a July/August delivery

Some dealers have available allocations and that makes all the difference. I believe the bigger the dealer, the greater the number of allocations they are granted.

My tiny dealer didn't have an allocation and although I ordered an SE in August, 2019, I ended up with a 2021 model. The delivery was complicated by the factory shutting down for the pandemic in early 2020. It started making 2021s when it reopened in March, so the number of 2020 models was very small. My SE showed up at my dealer just in time to be the last car they delivered before going out of business the next day.

This is what I was expecting myself. If it does end up that much sooner I'll have to try and get my i3 sold much quicker!!

I chose a dealer further away because they are quite a bit larger and claimed to have more allocations than the closer one (and it was the only dealer with a Demo, plus they had been very responsive/nice/no mark-ups/etc).

I also pre-order mine last week and the dealer said he is going to place the actual order towards the end of Feb for a April/May delivery. Maybe it’s your same dealer haha

Would there be a problem with (a) putting in a deposit at nearest 2-3 Mini dealers, (b) wait for the first one to get an allocation and order a '23, (c) cancel the other two deposits?

I'm not sure the other two dealerships would be super happy in that scenario, but so long as you confirm you can easily cancel/get a refund ahead of time I don't see why not?

I spoke to a dealer. When you put down the $250 deposit with Mini USA you tell them who your dealer is. The waiting list is essentially "national" so when your name comes up, it will be added to that dealer's allocation. So no point in shopping multiple dealers for the SE (which is in such demand that essentially all deliveries will be special orders.)

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, but it isn't what my dealer indicated. Could have just been a ploy to get/keep my order with them though.

I made a deposit through my dealer before the SE officially went on sale. When it finally did go on sale the dealer told me I had to do the deposit again through the website (I got full credit for both deposits on my purchase). That does seem to indicate it's a nation-wide list. The best thing to do, I think, is find out from each dealer when they have allocations and can submit the order. My dealer (a large one), said they submit orders about every two weeks. Which in my case was basically true, back in early 2021.

The contract I signed with my dealer says something to the effect of I can cancel the order, and my deposit will be applied to any other Mini i purchase. You got two kids about to get their license that need Minis?

In addition to a new green paint, another steering wheel logo, another passenger-side dash panel, another door sill, and a yellow tweed cloth material for the seats (certain to never get dirty, right?).

Oh boy do I like the Resolute Edition bonnet stripes.

Also note the Resolute Edition has black beltline trim. (By the way, it's Pepper White roof/mirror caps, which is quite different from white. The photos just don't convey how nice Pepper White is.)

And the brass trim of the Untold Edition is funky, throwing the whole chrome/black trim debate out the window.

Pepper white just looks dingy to me. I must be in the minority since it's a popular color, but to me it just looks like your white car is dirty.

The fact that it's shown with the black waistline trim makes me wonder if that won't be standard across them all for '23. We know they standardized piano black across the 23's, but nothing about the waistline trim was mentioned, so I'm not sure, but I'm hopeful at least!

Nevermind... I see that on the US site for the special editions it calls out the waistline trim as part of the Resolute trim.

Just had a look on the Mini UK site and they have photos and prices for the three multi tone roof colours; blue (same as the Collection), red and white. I picked up a couple of images of the midnight black 2 with the red and white multi tone roofs. £650 option. You can also now spec black, white, red or yellow mirror caps. Everything else in the level 3 is exactly the same as the 22. Only the black lounge leather or satellite grey leather for the interior in the UK. As reported, black or white bonnet stripes available.

Edit: I should have said, this is all from the SE configurator.
