Number of SEs at dealerships or "arriving soon"

With 195 SEs sitting at dealerships, and 7372 total MINIs sitting at dealerships in the US, MINI now offers $500 off a new MINI (advertised as $500 off customizations) purchased or ordered today.

Discounts have begun.

(I'm surprised that the discount can be applied to a new SE, given that BMW charges almost twice the interest rate for the lease of an SE versus an ICE.)

I got that same email and had the same thought.

Also interesting in your chart is how the trend for Iconics to be accumulating more rapidly than Sig+ 2.0s has continued.
 
Ordered mine in August should be leaving in the next 7 days. Or might have left

Yeah, doesn't seem like much to worry about, especially since it is visible on the car itself - a legal requirement, I believe, and a feature touted by MINI (or so VIN decoders (!) state).

Then again, I suppose somebody could figure out that you got the heated steering wheel or H-K stereo that they didn't, and might drive halfway across the country to steal your car and leave theirs in its place? ;)

CFR 49 part 465 subpart B.13 paragraph (f):

"The VIN for passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles, low speed vehicles, and trucks of 4536 kg or less GVWR shall be located inside the passenger compartment. It shall be readable, without moving any part of the vehicle, through the vehicle glazing under daylight lighting conditions by an observer having 20/20 vision (Snellen) whose eye-point is located outside the vehicle adjacent to the left windshield pillar. Each character in the VIN subject to this paragraph shall have a minimum height of 4 mm."

Now that's some legal-ese! If only the Inflation Reduction Act's EV provisions were so specific.

If the ship is from the Wallenius Wilhelmsen line, then it might be the Arc Defender on 3-dec. But the last ship that left was not from that line. And, your MINI and mine just arrived at the port. These two cars could sit there in the smoggy (https://www.offshore-energy.biz/uk-exploring-shore-power-in-ports/), salty air of Southampton for four weeks or more before they hitch a ride on a RoRo.

My build date was 8 November. I’ll reach out to my contact at Mini Canada and ask her if she can get some info. My car is coming in at Halifax
 
Don't get too excited until it is on a ship. If it just made it to port, you might not see your Mini for another 6 weeks.
 
Only vessel recently that had Southampton as a port call and is loaded into Port of Halifax is Asian Captain which just unloaded and is calling at New York now. There is also DON QUIJOTEwhich is calling at Halifax on Friday . Then there is one more RORO auto for dec DON Carlos until January
