It's BMW, seems like they basically said "what BMW platform can we sell as a MINI?" Not to mention how completely insane the US market is for giant SUVs. I have yet another friend getting an Ioniq 5 and I think that's a beast of a vehicle (not to mention absolutely ugly), and yet it's a hot seller. It feels cheap, but is more expensive than the car it is replacing (or closest to for the all electric version). I really don't know what they were thinking.
MINI's been targeting younger demographic at least with the SE, one of the first videos for it was very Millenial Generation. And all the Aceman marketing I've seen so far has been targeted that way, not to mention "Spike". Anyone remember the MINIverse game? Looks like they added the J01 and the new Countryman along with the original Aceman.
