The Clarity is a great vehicle and I prefer driving it to our Tesla Y. It cost about 40% of the Tesla (5 years between), rides and handles better, doesn't rattle, is much better to fuel for long trips, and costs half as much to insure. Only 2 problems to me: it should have been a hatchback, and that damn crap cruise control.
I have not tried the Clarity myself, so I cannot compare which is best driving/performance characteristics compared to a Tesla Model Y.
Otherwise, I love our Model 3, for its superior driving and performance. A really great fun car to drive hard and actively.
Yes, just like our Mini Cooper F56, I have some rattles and squeaks in it as well (our M3 from 2021 is a USA/California made one, and not the higher quality builds from China or Germany). Love the superior handling and great chassi of it.
The big downside of our M3, is just like for you with your Clarity, that it is not a hatchback. It has some large storage areas, but it is very impractical to load and transport things in.
That said, my post in the thread was not a brand war or religious one of Honda vs Tesla. It was a comment about ICE, Hybrid vs pure
BEV.
That was exactly (to try to avoid comments like yours) that I had the example of our BMW hybrid vs our BMW BEV.
BMW vs BMW (not Honda vs Tesla).
I personally think hybrids, genrally, is a really bad concept for most. I do not like hybrids at all, and they are really bad for the environment compared to the marketing and PR speak they make about them. Muche better, for both yourself and the environment, to go for a pure BEV instead. Hybrids are generally a very much compromised car, which is not good at anything.
