I am going to chisel that into the slate letter I am sending them.Speaking of software changes, did anyone notice the new Driving Info button on the main AV menu?
Kona won't tell you where the charging station is, but it shows you how much time you spent accelerating to get there. ;-)
Nope. It's not available to me either and I've had my car since late February.I registered and signed into the mapcare site, and it accepted my VIN. But it won't let me do my own download (Place an Order button). Instead it says Map Update currently unavailable for this model. and I have to visit a dealer to do the update. I have an Ultimate model with Nav. Is this maybe because I have only owned the car for 3 weeks? It did accept the VIN, though. I am in Canada.

Well, good to know that there is an explanation for this happening. I also opened a help desk ticket yesterday, and will see what they say with mine.I opened a support ticket on this exact thing and this was their response:
"Thank you for contacting us. The reason you are unable to place an order is that after release, we were made aware of some minor software bugs introduced with the v13 update on certain radios, of which your model year is included. As a precaution we have suspended the availability of those updates until the issue is resolved. We expect these maps will be made available again in about 3 weeks, I deeply apologize about the inconvenience."
I know the feeling... Our other car, 2018 Crosstrek, has a Harman Kardon HU (used across multiple Subaru models), and took them a couple of iterations before they got it right. But they finally did, and am sure they will work it out with our Kona EV as well. If we are talking just a couple months, I can live with that.Car companies are going to have a slow transition in becoming tech companies. Most of the software and components are outsourced so it is surprising it works as well as it does. Case in point: have a look at the Mercedes EQC review on this site and you may notice too many similarities with the Kona to be coincidental.
Glad I didn't updateI opened a support ticket on this exact thing and this was their response:

Yes, and my VIN is registered with them and shows on the Mapcare site. The site does have a .ca in it, so is for Canada. You are in Canada, right? Maybe that makes a difference. For whatever unknown reason.
Also, is your VIN registered in the system? They took 3.5 months until mine was finally in their system!
