Sorry, but I’m not sure which part of my message you are referring to when you say, “not sure why you don't see that as reasonable.” I can try to explain my reasoning if you clarify your question?

I’m just curious what the show stoppers are for you at this time?
That's really a Tesla thing. Not all EVs recommend only charging to 80%Range when using the recommended captivity of the battery (30-80%). Battery longevity, quirkiness of public charges, cold weather range reduction, etc...

I'm actually trying to figure this out as well, as my garage has a NEMA 5-20 this would make a big difference charging the SE... Does anyone know if it's possible?Does anyone here know if the SE can pull more than 12A at 120V? I know the Bolt will only ever pull up to 12A, and that's a limit imposed by the car. Technically, the J1772 standard defines 120V up to 16A - 120V / 24A is not valid under the official protocol. That said, even 5-20 outlets are pretty common. The 33% boost in charge rate from 12A to 16A is not insignificant.
My garage is on 20 A circuit with NEMA 5-15 outlets. I set my car's level 1 charging to max which is supposed to be 15 A, but using the supplied cable it never drew above 10 A which is the rating on the charge cable.I'm actually trying to figure this out as well, as my garage has a NEMA 5-20 this would make a big difference charging the SE... I just took a yardstick outside in the dark with a flashlight. The center of the charge port cover is on the passenger's side, 29-30" from the back of the rear bumper. My year-old list of specs has the length at 151.6". Don't know the 2022 SE's length.Detail request:
The charge port is on the back of the passenger side, right? How far from the back end is it?
I’m trying to place my EVSE to cover the two positions in my garage where it could sit (front or back, it’s a two-deep, not two-wide garage). Unfortunately, the side with power is the drivers side (we do not back in). So I will wrap it around the car one way or the other to plug it in.
Also, can someone confirm the car is 153” long?

Got my 40a circuit installed this morning. Had the JuiceBox ready. It's on my network!
Now I just need a car to plug it into!

Excellent. Looks good.

Awesome, thank you for confirming this is possible! As an update to this, it appears I can use a Tesla Tap (or some knockoff) to convert a tesla mobile connector to j1772 and charge my MINI at a full 16A off a nema 5-20. Also allows installing a Tesla level 2 charger down the road and use it for both my model 3 and the MINI...
I will confirm when I have all the equipment, I haven't tested it myself yet. Actually hoping someone can prove me wrong before I order a tesla tapAwesome, thank you for confirming this is possible!

Now I just need to figure out why it is “offline”
