No - that's what I thought he meant at first, until he mention 7.7kW...
I don't know of any 7.7 kW, UL-listed, cord-style EVSEs (I admit the catalog of EVSEs in my brain is very thin). Please ask your MA to help a large group of MINI SE owners identify this highly desirable EVSE, which is not listed on MINI's website. I may get one if it fits under the cargo-floor lid.

My Mach-E came with a mobile charger capable of 120V and 240V/32A charging. For 240V/32A it uses an L14-50 plug.

I did reach out to him via e-mail this AM to clarify some things, including any more info he could give on that charger. It is certainly a possibly that I mis-heard him, so we'll see.

Here's the info:

So as I suspected, it's like the one that came with my Mach-E that has different plugs for 120/240V.

Also here's some other info:

Also confirmed that the new Midnight Black II color option is the BMW Black Saphire Metallic color.

Thanks for sharing this! Three of those images are broken...mind uploading them again?

The Tesla Mobile Connector that @F14Scott mentioned does! As far as I'm concerned it's the way to go—nothing cheaper, it's UL-approved, and it goes to 7.6 kW:

The NEMA 14-50 adapter will allow a Tesla to draw up to 32 amps (7.6 kW at 240 volts).

The mobile connector is out of stock at Tesla, but there a lot of them on eBay. A coworker showed me one earlier this week, and it's a nice bit of kit inside a handy case that doesn't take up much more room than what comes with the SE.

Thanks for sharing info. Are the multitone roof option available only on higher trims or on signature too?

I would still get a Tesla to J1772 adapter anyways. The newer adapters are much more compact and 48A compatible. Also, having the ability to use the free Tesla destination chargers can be a huge bonus.

Everywhere I've been there's usually a J1772 clippercreek unit with the Tesla Destination chargers, but if you do rely on public charging frequently, I can certainly see the benefit in having a TeslaTap.

I had an alpine white Z3M. When I went to get touch up blended, the gal behind the counter pulled out three or four paint chips of BMW alpine white. They all looked the same until you laid them on the hood of my car in sunlight.

Absolutely! In Europe, Tesla uses CCS so it's less of an issue. However for the North American folks, it's nice having alternatives when the single J1772 is taken by a PHEV.

Looks like I may not get to actually place an order till late Feb/Early March per my dealer. He mentioned that they had to wait for "allocations" to be available to them, and so I was put on a list to be contacted once I could actually order.

My dates last year for the '21/'22 switchover were:
  • Deposit 1/6/21 (dealer had to hold order)
  • Dealer able to place order 2/9/21
  • Build number assigned 2/17/21
  • Production began 2/25/21
  • Took ownership 4/17/21

When I had my local body shop paint and install a new, scoopless hood made for a base MINI Cooper, I erroneously assumed they would just order some MINI Moonwalk Grey paint, paint the hood, and be done. Nope. They said that the Moonwalk Grey paint used at the factory varies with time so it's impossible to buy a perfect match--and usually they're painting cars older than brand new and the paint on those cars has faded. The body shop followed their tried-and-true process of blending the closest matching paint, knowing it's impossible to create a perfect match. Then they had to remove the grille, paint the hood, paint the front, and then fade the new paint into the original paint on the fenders and doors.

Here's my brand-new MINI Cooper SE at the body shop in September, 2021. They said it was nice working on a new car where none of the nuts and bolts holding things together were rusty and they didn't have to do any surface prep before painting the surfaces.

I'm not sure. He did mention that there are roof restrictions based on car paint color. He said "The Roofs will also include this multicolor combination(they have certain restrictions Ex: green car with red roof...).

I like the look of the multi-tone roof, but I'm still leaning towards black roof, so I didn't really ask for any more specifics.

I was just informed that the Signature is going to be built in china, Signature Plus and Iconic in England. I was planning on a Signature, do I care that it comes from China?
