Customize MINI Settings with Bimmercode App

If one buckles one seatbelt and leaves the other unbuckled, it does give a Christmasy look to the panel. Just something else to ignore. Between the lane change icon, the braking icon, and the speed limit, I have enough to look at. The front passenger seatbelt warning is entirely something else. I put a frozen turkey in the passenger seat, and the damn car yelled at me all the way home.

Yes! I have my 14yo who rides in the back when the three of us are in the car (about once a week, and yes a 5'8" guy fits fine back there) so the panel is red and green. Kinda funny really. Threw my spouse when he first saw it.

Gallons of milk will set my alarm off for the seat belt. I always remember to buckle in now if i have one there
 
I've been having a lot of fun playing around with settings in Bimmercode. Thanks for the tips here on keeping the pedestrian sound off.

I found one setting isn't able to work on my car, the "Rolls Royce" warning chime. For me, it makes the same sound as the "BMW" chime. Has anyone been able to enable that chime?

  • Some adapters may experience Bluetooth failure during coding
  • Some adapters are exclusively for iPhone/Android
  • Some adapters also work for different vehicle brands/apps
There is also a weak correlation for adapters on sale and Bluetooth failure during coding requiring Esys.

@Joe c overcame his problems with Bluetooth unreliability using an ENET cable connected to a computer running Bimmercode while the Bimmercode wizard was controlling that computer remotely.

So would an ENET (ethernet-to-OBDII) cable with a Lightning adapter for the iPhone be better than any Bluetooth adapter? Here's such a package for $30 on Amazon. If you were running Bimmercode on a PC with an ethernet port, all you would need would be an ENET cable, which Amazon sells for $15.60:

Actually it was using an ENET cable connected to a computer running ESYS. Bimmercode is mobile only - iOS or Android.

But yes, if at all possible, always code using a cabled connection rather than bluetooth.
 
+1 for hardwired. It’s much faster than wireless and less prone to dropouts. You still need to make sure your device doesn’t turn off, but it’s so quick that it isn’t really an issue.

Are you sure this will work? I have my doubts the App was developed to allow for a direction connection like this. Did you check with Bimmercode to confirm that your setup will allow you to connect to the car?

Yes it works, it's directly supported by the Bimmercode app - it's also how I and various others have coded our SE's.

I use a different Ethernet to Lightning adapter than that one, but the concept is still the same.
