On my Clarity when the climate is set to automatic those functions are not available for selecting. The car determines all of the settings, you just give it a temperature.

I wonder if that's a high humidity thing. The Volt turned on A/C for humidity detection (the Volt humidity sensor is in the center driver's rearview mirror).

Humidity is 48 percent right now, which is high for this area unless it's actually raining.

I began to check fuses but gave up quickly. There are several fuse panels. When I opened the large one under the hood (first time I've even looked in there) there were several familiar fuses which could be viewed without pulling them. Then there are quite a few unfamiliar fuses which are little black boxes. I decided to let Honda deal with this problem.
Even if I did find a blown fuse I'd want Honda to figure out why it blew. I'm guessing there is either a loose connection, blown fuse, or some $2,000 printed circuit board needs to be replaced.
The appointment is for Wednesday the 27th.

I am having an annoying issue using the remote climate thought. It causes the vehicle Bluetooth to turn on, forcing my phone to connect to it. Now my calls all go to the car, when no one is I side of it.

As frustrating as this experience must have been, especially over the Holiday, it may be a blessing in disguise. They will probably do a no cost careful check over the entire car, and might notice something else. Good luck and tell us how it goes.

So annoying is it allows anyone within about 50 feet of my car to connect to my car via Bluetooth when I turn the remote climate on. Honda insist this is normal behavior.

I am assuming the battery was at least partway charged? I didn't see you confirm that bit of information. It should have still been able to draw power over the L2 charger.
Also, did you confirm your heater works while driving (with no gas)? To make sure it isn't an issue with the heater itself?

I believe he mentioned when driving heat does come out of the lower vents. So this seems to like and issue with the remote climate system.

I've had my Clarity for about a month and the remote climate seems to work fine regardless of what I have the system set to when I turn the car off. I generally leave it on full auto at 67-68 degrees, and in the mornings the cabin temp starts at around 35-40 degrees and ends at around 75 degrees (per the app). I've been using the schedule so it comes on before I need to leave and generally runs most of the 30 cycle before I leave.
One thing I've had happen several times though (which may or may not be related to the remote climate) is when I get in the car and start it, the audio functions are frozen - only FM works, but XM and pandora are dead. It's happened a few times this week, each time I had been using the remote climate before getting in the car. It comes back on later in the day after it's been sitting at work, but it's irritating. I'm trying to isolate the circumstances so the dealer might be able to troubleshoot, but it is not easily replicated.

New information.
Regarding my car not heating when starting it with Remote Climate features...
I should have tried this earlier. I tried getting the heat to come on without using Remote Climate. I got into the car with the Level 2 cable plugged in. I put my foot on the brake pedal and pushed the Power button. Then I made sure the heat was on and the temperature was set to 73 degrees. The car was about 50 degrees. No warm air came out of the vents even after 5 minutes. So my problem has nothing to do with the Remote Climate control. It simply won't heat at all while in charge mode.
I turned the car off. Unplugged the Level 2 cable. Got into the car, put my foot on the brake, and pushed the Power button. Warm air started coming out of the vents after a few minutes. The ICE did not come on.
Would someone else please check their Clarity to see if the car will heat when on the Level 2 charger - ignoring any Remote Climate controls. Thanks.

In its standard operation, the Clarity runs on full-electric power as often as possible, though if you’re aggressive on the throttle, the gas engine will kick on for assist. With L2 (actually car is charging at 80%), press brake, ON button, no heat (I have been pressing three bars seat warmer on quick visits to the car)
ON button, no heat (there are at least two different non-driving power up modes, I need to re-read that part) {okay, pressing the ON button once (no brake) puts it in accessory, twice supposedly turns on all electrical gear, I get climate fan (all speeds), but still no heat.}
But my climate pre-conditioning does work - Still plugged in as before (no changes) - Sitting in the car (car is OFF), press lock remote, press and hold climate, get 3 flashes of lights, followed by 3 more. nothing for about a minute, then some slight air flow, then full bore warm air (possibly pre-heats some heating elements somewhere). Only stayed for a few minutes but the air was already up to about 68F (not the cabin yet, just the beginning of warm air). Opening the door to exit turned off the climate pre-heat.
I keep looking, the only other weird mode is car wash power saving mode, I think on page 386, but I think you would get a note in the driver display. Oh well, lets see what the dealer says, unless you or someone solves the mystery before then.

Here is a sample chargepoint curve (32A EVSE charge chord) for a climate pre-condition cycle from 26F ambient to about 75F cabin temp:
(unplugged it and plugged in again just before 11am to begin a new graph, so it took a little power for something before the climate cycle began. It was plugged in prior to that.)

Thanks for checking. It sounds like there are conditions when the heat won't come on. I'll stick to the Remote Climate conversation when I take the car into the dealer.

We are all curious to hear the outcome now. Wish we could have solved it, going to feel pretty silly if it's just a setting. In the Volt, esp. Gen 1, when odd things happened, step one was to disconnect the 12 V battery, let it sit, then cold-boot the car by reconnecting the 12 V battery. Also, may odd Volt problems were ultimately connected to the 12 V battery or direct or indirect 12V battery connections. (not suggesting that boot here).
Suppose it could be an open wire, bad connection, one of those plastic connectors someone forgot to plug-in, or did not seat correctly, a bad or bent pin, a bad board or fuse as you noted earlier, guess the list is very long.
I suppose the only other thing to try short term might be if there is some option like restore all factory settings? (may not be worth the try if you lose too many custom settings)
I'm getting my backup sensors Wednesday, hope it goes better than my ongoing Pirelli tire fiasco. Here's to Wednesday!

Total Confusion:
Based on your post Tiralc I decided to go back to the car to try some more variations. I spent much of my career doing some sort of troubleshooting and I can't let this lie.
I started by pulling the key fob out of my pocket, hit the lock button, then the climate button. At that time I was 30' from the car in our living room. After about 10 minutes I went out to the garage to try some things. I opened the door and the car was warm!! Go figure.
I got into the car, hit the lock button on the fob, hit the climate button and the system came on blowing warm air out of the vent over the accelerator pedal. My first thought was, "The car fixed itself!" Cool.
Over the next 20 minutes there was nothing I could do to get the car to produce any heat again. Of course it was warm but that didn't last long. The cold air coming out of the vents quickly dropped the temperature 10 degrees or more. I tried accessory mode, Remote Climate using the fob. I got out of the car and went back to the living room 30' feet from the car and used Remote Climate, waiting 10 minutes again and still there was only cold air blowing out.
I'm very interested to hear what Honda finds.
Can only use my Toyota experience, but remote management of climate simply turned the system on to whatever it was set at (including off) when you last used it. So as someone mentioned, set the heat high, get it off 'eco' - in essence have it working the way you want it before you shut down. Then - as you did - see if it still doesn't work. I was ALWAYS disappointed in the Toyota Prius' remote climate system. It worked at best randomly. Undependable most of the time. And at others, I'd forgotten to leave the AC or Heat in the on position before leaving the car. Good luck.
