I can do the math if I sit down (standing up, a mile is 1.6 km, which isn’t terribly accurate), but is there an iOS Shortcut to quickly convert from mi/kWh to kWh/100 km (and vice-versa)?

Yeah I know the formulas, it would just be nice to have a quick shortcut on my home screen — and be able to ask Siri — rather than trying to wrangle the numbers in my head while I’m sitting at a stoplight. It’s the same equation in both directions, but I wouldn’t mind the accuracy of the six decimal places…

"Hey Siri, what's 10 miles in kilometers?" works for me. The downside is the Siri processing delay, but it's pretty quick. I haven't tried it via CarPlay though.

Yeah but ask her “what is 3.85 mi/kWh in kWh/100km” now. Alexa is also dumber lately, she has taken to approximating conversions very coarsely (eg. “100 kilometres is about 60 miles”) and rounding math to three decimals; I don’t bother asking her for more complex conversions.

In case I wasn’t clear, I’m not looking for basic conversions, I’m looking for an iOS Shortcut to correctly convert the US customary EV efficiency figures into SI/metric and vice versa. And also in case I wasn’t clear, Siri is able to execute iOS Shortcuts by voice.

I switched my Mini from kWh/100km to KM/kWh when we got it so I can compare to Miles/kWh easier.

Beats my -40F 1.8mi/kWh or 2.9km/kWh efficiency. This is abysmal Countryman SE PHEV-like numbers (1.8mi/kWh EPA rated). :(

Perhaps the AM radio imposes a substantial electrical burden and THAT'S why MINI disabled it ;)

The problem with standards is that there are far too damn many of them.

Yeah, the EPA/NRCan ratings should really be baselines. Unless you’re a car company that starts with a T and ends with an A.

The R5s are silent compared to the Hakka 9 studded studded on my 5dr which sound like satans meat grinder

Yup. Turn off your pedestrian protection sounds (temporarily) and accelerate from a stop with your window open. They’re present, but not at all loud or unpleasant.

I used Hakka 9 studded on a previous RWD vehicle for winter driving. It sounded like rocks in the tires for 6 month (Oct-Apr).

  19. @SameGuy Here are two iOS Shortcuts I just created. Let me know if that helps.

  20. Updated my wheels and tires for winter. Before and after pics of the original Summer 17" setup and Winter 16". These are 16" Victory Spokes with Hankook iPike RS 195/55R16 tires. These tires were already mounted on the wheels when I bought them on classifieds. I figured I would give them a try and maybe upgrade for something better next year.

No, this is not my house; it's my neighbour's. But I think it makes a nice background for the MINI.

Omgrotfl if this site allowed standard emojis, you’d be getting a lot of them for this! That is freaking fantastic, exactly what I wanted! Thank you so much, mille fois merci!

Every time I open a shortcut to see the script, it looks so easy, and yet it just escapes me. Lol

  23. It's the first time I build shortcuts, and I plan to use them myself. Let me know if you think of any improvements.
