What did you do to your MINI today?

Dressed up Jules today, front and rear stripes from Mini-Graphics, and got some new Black Jack tire valve caps. Took a few hours to do the stripes, and a few seconds for the tire caps.
You chose some great stripes and did a good job applying them. Same with the valve caps.

You also magically turned your two yellow MINI S logos and your yellow MINI-E logo green. Another mod well done! Great license plate frame, too.

MINI wouldn't allow customers to order yellow grille trim or yellow mirrors with Green MINI Cooper SEs. Were they worried about a lawsuit from Lotus? However, they still left those two logos yellow on green SEs. You've created the greenest SE!

LOL — very perceptive insights, Insightman! I also got the 2 “S”s on the side-scuttles greened out, too. I’ve been trying to decide if I want to change the yellow on the Corona/PowerSpoke wheels, but I’m leaning towards leaving them yellow.
I’ve got a bunch more mods coming from the UK in the next couple of weeks — all tiny stuff, but all in line with me keeping Rule #4 close to heart!

After 5 years and just over 25,000 miles motoring to/through 9 states, I said goodbye to Wattson today. Traded in for a 2025 Countryman SE, so I guess I'll have to start posting in the forum next door (but will still keep visiting this one to see how the rest of you are getting on). I really didn't want to let Wattson go, but we have a strict "one in, one out" policy so all vehicles can fit in the garage. The Countryman will certainly make road trips a bit easier.

Good luck is still only 213 miles range as all Minis have the lowest range cars sold in USA

The U25 section is pretty quiet, but I'd be happy to respond when I can. There's some super moderator on another EV forum that's probably bored with the lack of U25 BEV content.

If I am being objective, I would take the U25 BEV over the F56 BEV if I could only have one. However, since I have both the F56 BEV & U25 BEV, I much prefer the F56 BEV as the daily driver. You just hop in and go with the F56! Also F56 bavsound non-HK sounds better than U25 with HK!

As both you mentioned a cars should be look how you use a car as I’m single driver to me is not a car on market as agile as SE F 56 and U25 BEV is still to small for family with 2 kids and range 213 miles for $ you pay for or you really a British can’t separate yourself from Island living in USA

Having road-tripped my F56 SE many times, getting twice the range will be like "easy mode" - 213 miles is plenty for me!

I must admit the U25 is much better than I expected, and I'm quite jealous you get to have both. I would also choose the F56 as my daily, given the choice.

MINI made several OTA updates to improve the driving dynamics in 2025, most recently in early July 2025. Personally the best aftermarket improvement you can do to the U25 is to reduce unsprung weight and get lighter aftermarket wheels. The Kaleido spoke wheels are incredibly heavy. Originally I was contemplating a Rivian R2 to replace the T_____A, but the timelines changed!

Now I am pretty much used to the MINI OS9 and have very little to gripe about other than the lack of USB audio (no data on USB C ports), and the BMW style wipers (hold down wiper while in accessory mode) for service mode. Oh, and the driver door closing acoustics could be better! The first time I used the F56 closing force while seated inside, and my left eardrum didn't like it!

Kids can't last more than 2 hours of driving so 213 miles is plenty. If space was the #1 priority then I would recommend a fossil vehicle like a minivan.

A doors are easy what about a hutch sound like I destroy my Mini all a time slapping a hutch must weigh 200 lbs but I love a car anyway .

You'll have a difficult time finding a decal for your Countryman as appropriate as Wattson's rear-window "Undercompensating."

2025 Countryman SE ALL 4 starting price$45,200 VW ID.Buzz Pro S 13 miles $ 42,000 can you compare those prices what you buying 213 miles for SE and 234 miles for VW ?

How many smiles per charge does the ID.Buzz provide?

(Actually, a fair bit, I imagine, but of a different nature and probably more of them if you're outgoing and have an audience. Heck, I'm not in the least outgoing, but would have struck up a conversation with the family I recently saw getting into theirs if there had been a place to park nearby.)

  1. It's far too big - over 20" longer than the Countryman! It simply wouldn't fit on my side of the garage.
  2. I don't have any children and rarely have more than 1 other passenger with me.
  3. My local dealerships are not discounting $20k off the ID.Buzz price, so the lightly used Countryman I bought is $15k less than the cheapest ID.Buzz available locally.
  4. My wife is leasing a 2023 ID.4, and I have road-tripped it. On a long enough journey, the infotainment and/or CarPlay connection will crash. Assuming the ID.Buzz has the newer infotainment system that is supposed to be better, VW's mobile app is still faaaaar behind in capabilities versus MINI's.

Yes, this is a very real regret I have. I thought about getting that sticker again and removing "under" so it just says "compensating", but you'd have to be in on the joke to get it.

Now that you have a U25, can you confirm to the 20-year old /r/MINI keyboard warriors that it looks like a KIA in real life? #movementhatinspires

I always have to laugh at such remarks. A Range Rover, perhaps, but a Kia? I don't really see the resemblance.
Really? To me it oozes the 2009 Kia Picanto LCI2. Look at that personality!!!!

To the non MINI drivers, the U25 is an absolute stunner compared to many compact SUV & crossovers. It's only the diehard R53 & R56 fossilheads that think they are morally superior of the bunch...even cooler than the classic Mini. My opinion is the F56 BEV is an absolutely amazing city vehicle!
