I got over 5.5 mi/kWh a few days ago, I routinely get over 5 mi/kWh during the summer. I think it's lousy that Lucid gets all the press about their efficient, while nobody ever realized how incredibly efficient the F56 SE is.

In no small part that's probably because so many are simply unaware of its existence.
And, of course, MINI, who doesn't do much advertising for any of their cars, did essentially nothing to publicize the SE. I believe their marketing people choked on its limited range.
Years ago, I tried to tell MINI how to promote the F56 SE: "Exchange the range for a ton of fun," but I think they had already written-off the original SE, hoping its Chinese replacement would be much easier to sell. Oops.
Sadly, based on the prevalence of SUVs these days, "fun-to-drive" doesn't sell many vehicles. Porsche Macan and Cayenne owners might claim their SUVs are fun to drive, but they don't understand driving fun like we do.

I don’t believe driving SUVs as Cayenne or Macan EV is so much fun as new 718 Boxter or Cayman EV will be in the same price range as$78000 to $108000 and SUV is more family oriented car like 718 is more sporty cars for thrill to drive like Mini Cooper SE in my opinion .I hope I get 718 in 2026-2027 if with all a trouble with suppliers They put 718 on market.And I don’t know what I do with my beloved SE as I have only one space in garage and driving only 5000 miles a year don’t make any sense to keep 2 EVs as a SE is still more practical car to compare to 718 and my wife will be going bananas if I go this route to buy 718 or divorce!

I have both a Macan EV and SE and here are a few opinions on the fun quotient of these two transportation appliances.
My 4S replaced the 15 year old mid sized SUV we used on road trips and in cold or bad weather. The 4S includes features like rear wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and PVT+. The SE is in Iconic trim and is used around town and commuting. I must say its is much different driving experience with a nominal 300 mile EV range than 100. Neither one has a no compromise sports car fun focus, but are tons of fun in two different ball parks.
As you would expect, the SE thrives in small go-cart type ballparks. The Macan 4S EV thrives in larger road course type ballparks. A Macan wouldn’t notice potholes that swallow up an SE. There are roads here where the SE is not very much fun to drive.
The SE is small and easier to park and dart around in. Simple, loads of torque steer, not much suspension, few drivers aids that get in the way, a go-cart. Lots of personality, appreciates driver skill. Inexpensive simple practical transportation that works very well.
The Macan is fun to drive fast and eat up twisty country road miles. It has insane acceleration and grip (0-60 less than 3 sec). So much fun applying a bit of throttle and feeling it pull you through sharp turns. The more you appreciate a finely tuned drivers car, the more fun you have. With its aggressive rear wheel steering, it is actually more agile than the SE in tight places like my driveway or U turns.
The SE gives me in the 5 mile per kW range. Under similar conditions, the dual motor AWD Macan S is in the 4 ranged . The base Macan goes a bit farther on a kW.
Macan EVs are currently in the US $78000 to $108000 price range. I wouldn’t expect an EV Boxter or Cayenne to be in the $80-110000 price range. They will likely be more current Taycan EV like, which is a car you can buy now that is hard to get in and out of and is a sporty car for sure. Porsche EVs are priced much higher than their equivalent ICE models.
I could buy three SEs for the price of the Macan …… so the fun for the price favors the SE significantly…. life is full of compromise. For trips less than 100 miles, i drive the SE, more I drive the Macan… having tons of fun in either one.

They did show the SE towing a 747 airplane, and they had at least one youth-oriented "urban car" promotional video which I thought wasn't bad. But it seems once reviewers starting writing about the SE MINI just stopped with promotion. A shame, really. Think of the poor engineers who did such an exceptional job retrofitting the F56 for electric and having it become completely forgotten.
The current 718 Cayman weighs about the same as a MINI Cooper SE. If Porsche can keep the Cayman EV in that ballpark, it will be a fabulous sports car without equal (for those who can afford it). However, if it weighs 3,800 or more pounds...
What this shows to me (again - my opinion here) is that in the two years the batteries haven't really gotten any better. Just as efficient on the SE as the Lucid, but the Lucid is a bigger car, giving you a bigger battery and hence longer distance travelled, although you do sacrifice range to offset the extra weight.

Lithium ion batteries, which have been around for quite a while, are already 95-99% efficient. Significant improvements can therefore only be achieved by focusing on other factors, especially mass*, rolling resistance, aero drag, and motor design.
*Obviously more energy dense batteries help in this regard, but that's because they require less energy to drag around, vs. "wasting"** less energy charging/discharging.
**Quotes because sometimes converting the stored chemical energy to heat energy is desirable.

I did a tread in 2018 on BMW I3 as I drive 7 years with 84 miles range and 7 years later we still in old technology as solid state batteries is not showing up in newest EVs bc all cars depends on gasoline and gas producers never give up to be eliminated from business with EV 1000 miles range just look at a pictures what I 3 did in 2018 range vise why they hold this technology to be implemented to new EVs bc all world is running on oil as past 100 years to be so powerful to stop improvements!As I don’t really give a ***** bc my SE doing good for me with 114 miles range and is new generation problem to push that advanced technology forward to make EVs environmentally sound for your kids .1000 miles EVs kill a gas powered cars tomorrow or just only for enthusiasts stay alive as Porsches guys invest thousands of dollars as grandkids wan’t to drive them !

As BMW I3 with very small foot print of solid state HV battery was able to squeeze 100kWh and range of 435 miles and only manufacturer showing a size of HV battery Length 65,35 Width 37,95 Hight 6,85 and as I look for Tesla or F 150 lighting size of battery is secret of a manufacturer no dimensions anywhere.I just imagine you can put 4 of them in F150 of 400 kWh and here you are 1000 miles range + .

What kind of details are you looking for? 800V with 400kW peak charging, WLTP 497 mile (800km) range, leather free interior, US license plate sized kidney grille, or bidirectional charging with V2X?
I'm a car guy and am waiting patiently for deets on the next BMW i3 (knowing it will be an electric 3-Series, nothing like the OG i3). My SE makes patience easy.

Yeah plug and charge is convenient, when the chargers recognize the car and the mothership that authorizes the charge is not busy elsewhere. It works most of the time, but there is always some anxiety and you shouldn't throw away the secondary app/card unless you are feeling very lucky.
