Deviated a bit from my normal routine and ran a few errands this weekend (so technically this is not the right thread! ). Used 16% of the battery (i.e., from 99% to 83%) to travel 30 miles, for an estimated total range of 188 miles.
We all know that the F56 SE can be very efficient, but this caught my attention because I have recently been averaging "only" 155-165 during my commute, versus the ~170 I often see this time of year.
Weather wasn't really any different this weekend, so I'm leaning towards slightly lower speeds as the explanation. I don't think it is because I started with a nearly full battery, as 1) it wasn't at 100% (so no "free" miles), and 2) while I do see a weak relationship between initial charge and estimated total range (meaning that the calculation must be biased due to non-linearity), it is pretty weak.
I may go back to taking the other route to work for a week, which has a lower speed limit (i.e., 35 vs. 40 mph) for a few miles. I don't really care about the time or the range, but am curious as that explains the difference.
