Except, my hour meter incremented (inductively coupled to a spark plug coil) and the exhaust manifold was hot. Both observations lead me to believe that the engine was running not just rotating. Of course it could have been a System Check, but it happened more than once immediately after a full charge with a significant braking event. So I don’t think it was a coincidence and it seems that my Clarity sometimes starts and runs the engine to somehow attenuate the regen power that the full battery can’t handle. We desperately need more information from Honda or more observations from owners.
Yes, more information would be great. I find the owners manual seems to leave out "need to know information".
The HV range estimate drops as well while this is happening. That means the engine is actually running.
Can anyone please advise if these .pdf files were supposed to come with live links embedded, or are they already flattened from the source? I'm trying to go to Code: "check for hard error codes" in Audio System Diagnostics Mode 3841.pdf but it appears to be plain-text, there's no JavaScript or any other form data that I can find in document properties either.
None of the PDFs I’ve downloaded from this forum have had active links and neither have the Honda tech docs that people have generously shared after paying for a one day subscription to Honda Tech.
The links are only live inside the Honda Service Website. They are not available in the download PDFs Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
