What did you do to your MINI today?

Adapters/spacers reduce the offset. You'd end up at 8mm.

What about to use wheels adapters these bolt onto your cars existing hub pattern and provide a different set of studs for 15” wheels which I belive is a safest most common alternative. Those 15” wheels should fit SE

Dropped my 23 off at the dealer Friday afternoon for a clunk in steering and overall check. They put me in a 25 Countryman SE loaner. I didn’t think I would like it because of its size but damn is this thing fun. It carries its weight surprisingly well, loves to rotate and gets off the line very quick. I like it.

Usually top mounts. Mine survived the 50k warranty period, despite all the autocrossing.

I did not like the U25 loaner that I had. Favourite loaner was the F57 Justa. Mini missed a trick not mass producing an F57SE, they would have sold like hotcakes.

Based on what I have read/experienced, inadequate lubrication of the intermediate steering shaft seems more likely. (I first noticed the "knock" or "clicking" when stopped/at very low speed at @~10k miles.)
 
Picked up my car this morning. Of course they cannot duplicate the issue. The SA said usually the column needs to be lubed/greased. But since they never heard/felt it there, nothing they could do. It will go back for routine maintenance in February, I’ll bring it up again. Warranty expires July 2026.
 
I had service done on my 2022 SE this week and asked for the technician to examine the steering shaft and U-joint. I had experienced a sight knock at slow speeds especially during a day’s first drive. The result was “no issue found.” I have recently telescoped the steering column and moved it up-and-down to possibly redistribute lubrication. The service visit was my last before the four-year warranty expires at the end of this month. Also had motor mounts, grill shutters, and rear suspension checked. All okay. I should note that the “most excellent runabout” is at 17,500 miles.

Well that's disappointing.

FWIW, I brought the issue to the local dealership's attention at the 2 year service, and they at least acknowledged its existence. This is where/when I picked up the recommendation of "exercising" the adjustable steering. My intent is to go back and push harder in the spring, before the 4 y warranty period is over.
 
Test fitted a rear caliper and bracket combo. It's a cable type caliper, but since it looks like it will work, the plan is to strip a pair down, weld and machine and swap parts to get them motorised. This will fix the lack of clearance to 15" wheels. Caliper is 36mm instead of the stock 34mm. My brakes were somewhat heavy with 245/35 sticky tyres, so this is a good upgrade. Not sure on front calipers, yet. Could be aluminium Prius, e90, Malibu or some 4 pots. The 4 pots are 3kg lighter, each, than the stock f56 ones, which is very tempting.

I also tried out the nearest supercharger. It let me plug in, but the car spent a minute 'calculating' before giving up. Calling Tesla support was a total waste of time. All they can see is which units are marked as down. Which I can see in the app, which likes to crash. No other diagnostics, at all. Worst support yet of any fast charger! The charging summary in my app is blank. Tesla support can't even access that. Apparently, I need to get Mini to work out why my car can charge fine from CCS, but not from a supercharger. I'm not optimistic...

Aircon not blowing cold, system completely empty, Mini dealership pressurized and leak checked system and no leaks found, recharged with refrigerant and now monitoring.
