What did you do to your MINI today?

Drove home at 90 this evening. I got drenched in descaler at work...
19 miles, 30% battery. Fortunately, it was a balmy 27F.

How limited is your power at 20 below? I was at 50% today at a balmy 5 ºF.
60% for that particular trip, went up to 70% after driving warmed it up. The worst I've had was 30% after cold-soaking all day at -20 ºF. The SE still drove fine, didn't notice anything except slower acceleration.

Got a wash and tacos with my wife.

About as dirty as I’ve ever seen one of my cars, after last week’s drive to Plattsburgh, NY, on mostly county highways just before the major polar vortex hit.

Yesterday it got up into the 30s so I had at it. No pictures of the snow foam because I went quickly, but slightly different MO: pressure wash rinse to get the heaviest crap off, undercarriage wash with the Adam’s Polishes attachment, foamed with CarPro Reset (instead of CG Honeydew, because of the amount of dirt), five minute dwell, then pressure wash rinse. I did, however, take a pic of the Xmas gift my adorable nephew gave me so he could see how much I appreciate it:

End result: a touchless wash that left my car far cleaner than any automatic gas station wash could ever do, and no parasitic silicone “wax” residue all over my glass and paint.

Started pulling a hub off to swap them for -0.5° crash hubs. Pulled the brake caliper and there is the hub part number. It looked awfully familiar...
Yep, my SE came from the factory with crash hubs, contrary to what the 2019 and 2023 parts catalogs say.
Mumble grumble. Who wants to buy some crash hubs? What, you all already have them?
Since the strut didn't have much still holding it on, I took it off to measure it. I didn't have a deep 18mm socket, so didn't pull the spring off.
SE front strut is about 10mm longer than an Ice F56 shock. Spring perch appears to be same height above hub. The shock is 10mm shorter travel than an F56 Koni FSD, the only f56 that I have body length for. Add on the extra length, bottoming occurs 20mm higher on the SE than an ICE car.
So, height is gained on the SE by springs with shocks changed to suit. ICE shocks should go on without much trouble and will retain the ride height. They'll result in the shocks being more prone to topping out with stock SE springs. If I use them, I'd add a spacer to keep travel the same.
I suspect the front springs are completely different to any other Mini. They are about the wire size of F55 springs, but I'm pretty sure they are longer. Rear springs may be from the F54 parts bin.

Tomorrow, I'll reduce the toe.
I gave it a quick alignment check before and after putting it on blocks. The lack of bump steer is downright impressive.
