Giving the forum a shot before I try other avenues. Here goes....

2018 Touring - 59K miles WITH 8/120K HondaCare. So Cal

Original owner. Garaged since new. No accidents. Modern Steel color. Leased it originally, then Covid happened. Lots of telework meant fewer miles on her. My buyout was way less than anything else for sale so I bought her, and I got the HondaCare before the 3rd year and IMG_8001.webp lease end (about 30k miles). Now I'm moving and she needs to find a new home. Less than 59,000 as of this posting.

Very good condition. I also have a JuiceNet level 2 charger that can be part of the deal. If you qualify for the used EV Federal tax credit (up to $4k), there's a way to do that (look up "keysavvy"). Check with your accountant as Im not a tax expert, but you know she's on the approved list of eligible cars. Be certain you qualify as its a "tax credit" and not a rebate.

Located in San Diego County. Willing to meet you for a drive and inspection near me.

Looking for about 24K?

HondaCare is transferrable for $50.

Unless you are lucky, you are going to have to have some patience at that price point and expect to either buy a car with well over 100k on it or with an accident history. The cheapest tourings I found anywhere in the country with clean carfax are about $15.5k and had over 100k miles. One was in Texas, the other in California, so neither met your criteria of east coast. Still, just because they list for $15.5k doesn't mean that they will sell for that...
 
Thanks for the knowledge. It seems form other posts after incentives people paid around $18-23k new
've come across dealers that want $1400 in documentation fee, so hoping for private seller. Open to a one owner low mileage base version also.
 
The prices paid after incentives from a few years ago are probably not very relevant for today's used car market unfortunately. For a while it was quite possible to sell an EV (or PHEV) for (sometimes significantly) more than the price paid new after incentives; for those deals from a few years ago that can still be the case today.

Exactly, clarity is a reach for my current budget, and with the incentive I can afford it this year, otherwise need to look at a C-Max, I saw this but it sold by the time the dealer got back to me :(

The gist is 2020 base with 34k miles for $23k in SoCal.

That platform (Autotrader) can also handle payment escrow, financing, shipping, verification of both parties etc, so seems like a nice way to handle private party transactions.

If you bought the car new in California, you should change the Charging System warranty to 10 yrs / 150,000 miles.

Interesting, thanks for pointing that out. I can't seem to change it in the listing unfortunately, that warranty information is added automatically.

Good to know. Do you know if other platforms like Autotrader also qualify if we pay thru their payment/escrow system ?
I may go for a second clarity :)
 
Just a FYI that in some states (like mine) a P2P used car transaction is sales tax free while a D2P is taxed.
Take that into account when/if going thru sites like Keysavvy for the tax credit.

And in some states—like California—the P2P sale has no sales tax, but the buyer must pay a Use Tax when they register the car in their name. It's the same percentage as what the sales tax would be. The State won't be denied their pound of flesh.
