Saw an Island Blue SE with black roof near the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden during my afternoon commute. I got a wave in but I think the other driver might have been a bit too surprised seeing another SE to react.

Saw a 2021 SE, BRG with white roof/mirror caps, heading west on Crosstown highway this morning. I never tire of seeing other SEs on the road.

This thread pops up from time to time and I always wonder when I'll get my sighting. But alas my rural Midwestern area has many Teslas but I have yet to see another mini SE outside of a dealership aside from my husbands that parks beside mine in the garage. We still get excited when we meet/see an ICE mini.

At my local MINI club, the only ones who are really excited about the SE are 60+. The 20-40 crowd don't seem to care and dislike the new designs.
It's encouraging that the 20-40 crowd likes MINI Coopers enough to show up for your local meetings. Perhaps the kick-butt Zhangjiagang SE will win them over (but, of course, they'll be much older by that time).

I think every SE driver I've seen on the road in my area has been in the younger demographic.

Hard to say. If I was in Quebec it would be a different story, but I live in the the "51st state" of Murica in the heartland of oil & gas. The only reason I'd switch to the Zhangjiagang SE is if vehicle-2-grid is available.

I've met one other SE owner so far. She was maybe half my age. Admittedly, a rather small sample size... I find younger women the most interested in my SE, judging by the way they look at me as I hum past. But interest is from all ages and genders.

I think the problem with the F56 SE in my region is that some people still can't get past the range especially living in an apartment. This is particularly important in the (arctic) winter when the max range is 50 miles without setting departure times. Those with multiple vehicles and/or access to home charging can deal with it.

Ooh, 50miles is limiting. I am pleased to find that my SE is much better at long trips than I was expecting. There's several new chargers to choose from each time I look.
The main factor for range appears to be battery temperature. A garage would make a big difference, even unheated ones blunt the coldest days. I time my charge to finish at a scheduled leaving time, which helps a bit.
I've done two ~700mile round trips to Atlanta now. It's the horrific driving there that gives me pause about taking my shiny SE...
With some planning, charging can be aligned with food stops.

Both my husband and I are solidly in the 20-40 range. When we bought our second one a teen girl was there getting an SE with her mom as her first car.

Now I know I am a lousy parent. We got her a base 12 with three pedals for her second car. First was a 18 year old three series with 3 pedals. My wife and I are failures.
I gave the kid a wave when I saw her a few weeks ago. She didn't get the irony.
