Saw a MINI Cooper SE at...

Not really "saw another SE" story, but I wanted to share. While I was sitting in the outer lane of a Walgreens drive-through the person helping me said, "I really like your wheels," referring to my Power Spoke wheels. First time I've gotten a comment on them.

Also, "not really 'saw another SE' story" either, but in my few short months of SE ownership I have had several people stop to approach me in my own driveway or store parking lots to ask me if I would sell them my SE. One couple even asked if the wife could "sit in" my car for a couple of minutes! Fun!

What is a Tesla 100?
Technically, it's a Tesla "Model S." For those who haven't noticed, Elon's 4 models almost make a word: "S3XY." There were rumors that he wanted to call the Model 3 the Model E, but another manufacturer had already secured the rights to that moniker. Will the Roadster make it "S3XYR" before the Cybertruck spoils everything?

I had just never heard of it referred to as a "Tesla 100". My mind went to the Tesla V100 which, if you aren't aware, is a high-power graphics card made by NVIDIA.

Is calling the Model S the "Tesla 100" common? The Model S has been made in 40*, 60, 85, 90, and 100kWh versions, so 100 seems to refer to a trim, and not the car itself.

*The 40kWh version was offered before the first car rolled off the line. Some people reserved this low-price / shorter-range Model S. The car was never actually made with a 40kWh battery. The few S 40's out there are actually 60kWh software limited to 40kWh. Tesla decided that was cheaper than building/crash testing / etc a whole different battery given how few were sold. It was discontinued before production began; the only ones delivered are those that were pre-ordered.

Someone in my San Francisco neighborhood has an SE with plate ending in 74 in silver. If you're on this forum I'd love to connect.

i just wish more people have the mentality that people should buy Tesla std + instead. i love the Mini SE to be more exclusive.

Why does exclusivity matter? I'd love it if everyone drove a Mini SE! No more giant polluting trucks sticking a mile out of parking spaces, no more giant SUVs blasting their headlights in your rear view mirror, almost double the street-side parking spaces...

Also, more owners means more aftermarket parts/support and better supply of replacement parts.

Mazda has made literally more than a million Miatas and it has led to a huge community, tons of aftermarket support and upgrades, cheap and available parts, and a bunch more benefits. I could buy a drop in V8 kit for my Miata but I can't even find a correct size lug bolt for the OZ wheels I got for my MINI...

Everyone is different. But i like to treat my car as fashion statement.

I walked out of a store today and BAM! Right in front of me was a near duplicate of my new Mini SE! Are those yellow accent wheel center caps? Yup. Yellow "E" badge on the back? Yup. I actually looked at the driver to be sure that it wasn't my wife up there in Tacoma unexpectedly. BRG with body color roof and mirrors just like ours. Didn't see the front so not sure what year it was. But it was my first Mini SE sighting and it was just like mine!

When I picked mine up from Tacoma there were two other SE deliveries. So three more on the road in the Tacoma area.

Saw a Moonwalk Grey 2022 SE with a black roof on my way to work this morning in New Hope, a western suburb of Minneapolis. We were going opposite directions so I didn't get a long look, but the yellow S in the front and the SE badge in the back were unmistakable.

This is my second "in the wild" sighting, so there are at least three SEs (counting mine) in my metropolis.

I’ve only seen one in the wild, the day after I placed the order for mine weirdly. It was heading south on the motorway towards the Scottish Borders. I think it was a level 2 2020 model in either midnight black or enigmatic black. It was a bit dirty so it was hard to distinguish the exact colour.

A friend was down in Sayulita, Mexico last week and saw an SE.

SEs have gotten popular enough here in Seattle that I've seen multiple within a block of each other.

As I was driving home tonight I saw the yellow "E" badge on the back of a MINI. But then I realized it was a Countryman PHEV. Nothing wrong with that, but disappointed it wasn't another SE Hardtop.

I saw a BRG SE on my way to lunch yesterday in ABQ. It's the first one I've seen driving around. The only other one I've seen was in a driveway, but I'm sure there are plenty in town based on how many they've sold through the dealership here.

I was going to wave, but the driver never even glanced over.
