I think we should ignore Alter's 55 Ah for now.
The vehicle must certainly have to execute a number of charge / discharge cycles before it can establish a valid capacity reading.
In Alter's scenario, there have certainly not been enough cycles after his battery reset.
It is puzzling why a battery reset would re-initialize to a default of 55 until a new measurement can be done, but that sounds like what is happening.
Any other brave souls want to do an experiment?
Someone who can read the capacity could reset their 12V battery to see if this happens...
It is a relatively mundane experiment, but I don't feel like doing it !
