How much impact to you see on range at -7F or so.
I don't see a huge range impact. My m/khw was 3.48 for November, 2.76 for December, and 2.53 for January so far.

God bless you - 31 F and I thought -14 was badIt was -31F this morning and I was with 1 bar of e-power. Had I plugged in and set a departure time, it would have been a different story. Last year for science, I cold soaked the SE below -40F (probably -49F but temp sensor doesn't go lower). It was barely drivable with rock hard seats and no power steering.
I likely won't ever again use my Bluetooth dongle for coding work. The difference is stark. The wireless dongle will be reserved for when I want to do on the go readings with eFlow or mi3 or ABRP.Welp, updates done, bimmercode settings lost, but gave me an excuse to order an enet cable to do it faster this time.![]()
I'm just about to embark on my semiregular, 110 mile round-trip secondary roads drive across the border, and it appears there is a light dusting of fresh snow on most of the non-freeway roads. Along with the fact that it's around 15°F right now, I have no delusions of being able to make it without stopping for at least a 10 kWh boost on the return trip.I am at 32 miles with 61% state of charge - low of -14F this morning to highs usually between 10 and 20. 78 miles with 100% when I started this morning. Big impact using the heater to make things tolerable and also the effects of the snow - traction etc. I always preheat while still plugged No change in power delivery
Erm that's a 38% drop. That's almost Toyota Busyforks bad.I don't see a huge range impact. My m/khw was 3.48 for November, 2.76 for December, and 2.53 for January so far.
Am I seeing an 20% range drop in winter and a 36% increase in summer, or a 67% range drop from ideal (summer)?
Anecdotally, I started today's drive while it was -9.5°C and snowing lightly, and did the outbound leg (86.5 km/54 miles) using 49%, and when I stopped to DC near the halfway point (41 km) of the return leg, I was at 29%. I might've eked out the last 45 km on that, but the vagaries of traffic and weather made stopping the prudent decision. Stopped the charge at 37% (2.5 kWh for 92¢ Canadian!), drove the remaining stretch at fairly above-normal speeds, and pulled into my garage at 9%.
I got my ride back too, and I was worried the reprogram killed the pep. Wish I’d clocked some runs before the recall to really know, but I blamed the cold. My car sat outside at the dealer in the low 30°F chill. When I finally hit the road, I was relieved that green mode was still the default. After flipping back to sport and reactivating traction control, the car felt legit again. It’s wild how a recall tweak can mess with your grooveThanks for having me in. Having just read the last 14 pages about the recall, I wanted to share my experience. 'Got the car back after the recall (reprogram), was very concerned that performance was noticeably reduced, wished I'd done some timed runs before the recall to confirm my suspicions, but kept in mind that the car had been sitting outside at the dealership, temps mid 30°'s F. Got home, spent most of the day reading all 14 pages of this thread, esp. regarding the loss of settings. Happy to report- "we're back!", got behind the wheel, hit the toggle, and sure enough, it was set on GREEN mode. Back to sport, and all is quite good (after turning traction control back on).
