Yes, ENET is an OBD-II plug on one end and RJ45 (Ethernet) on the other, so for a phone you'd need an intermediate adapter dongle. For USB-C (most recent Androids, and iPhone 15 and newer) I'm using and can recommend the Anker USB-C-to-Ethernet adapter.

Yeah that one was important to me. The couple of days before I recoded it made me realize how loud it is and how unnecessary it is during 90% of my low-speed driving (ie at 4 am in industrial areas near the airport, or leaving my garage at 3:40 am).
 
I had the update performed today. Good news is that I was in and out in under 2 hours. Bad news is that I lost some of the settings that I had changed, and the car seems to have forgotten the code to my garage door opener. Worse news is that they dented and scratched my car just above the driver's door handle. :(

I am taking the car back on Friday so their "dent guy" can (hopefully) fix it. However, I have my doubts about the scratch - it's through the clearcoat (can feel it with a fingernail, etc.), so I don't think it can just be polished away. OTOH, repainting the door doesn't seem like a good option either. I am therefore afraid that I am going to have to live with an unsightly touch up job right where I will always see it every time I get in the car, entirely due to someone else's negligence.

One thing is certain: my car is never going back to that dealership again.
 
Its crazy how bad they are. Nobody has a good experience. They all suck

My car punched in 7:14am punched out 9:20am. In nearly 8 hours nobody noticed or bothered to look for missing keys on a workorder

I'm sorry that so many of you here have had less than favorable adventures with your dealers. But they're not all bad. I've been going to my dealer for over ten years (long enough to have outlasted sales managers, service managers, and head mechanics) and they've done extremely well, both in service and sales.

Sounds a good deal, only 18 USD. My dealer just told me it will cost me ca 84 USD (here in Norway) to change it. Guess I need to learn to do it myself then to save my bank.

OMG, so sorry for you. Cant believe it happened that they scratched your car! I hope you find a way to fix it...
Now I begin to worry, sent in my car 1hour ago...

They charged me $59 plus tax for the front wipers, which I was prepared to pay. The $18 plus tax was just the labour to change them (which is a seven minute task at most). I was hoping they'd not charge "labour" for that task while my car was just sitting there getting updated and the dealership was already charging BMW for shop time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
There is only one less than mediocre MINI dealership within a 200 mile radius of where I live. Also, a scummy auto consortium has taken over almost every single brand with the exception of MINI.
 
When I had my 2-year service done, I asked them to change the wipers ('cause I was too lazy to go to all the trouble to find and install them myself), and they only charged me $45.
 
Back in the day dealers gave “free” 1L bottles of oil and it was billed back to BMW. That ended ages ago

Independent owner stores are quickly being bought up by massive groups as consolidation continues. OEMs are actually the driving force behind it. I had lunch with the owner of 2 Chevy stores in rural areas and he is holding out as long as he can. Not for finances but rather because loyal clients
