Recall for all ‘old’ Mini Cooper SEs
"Mini is recalling all units of the battery-electric Cooper SE worldwide due to a potential fire hazard. The insulation of the high-voltage battery in the vehicles may be faulty. A software update is to help, among other measures. Affected are the vehicles of the first generation of the Mini Cooper SE built in Europe between November 2018 and January 2024."

Wow, this sounds like eventually everyone has the chance of getting new batteries? Since I'm at 92,000 that would be a sweet deal for me.

Sweet! Actually in before a buyback or repair similar to what porsche is doing. New case and reseal

The way I read it, only when the software detects it's one of the improperly-manufactured battery packs would a full pack replacement take place.
 
More like they are going to try and ride it out given the oldest cars are 4-5 years old. Then tell you to pound sand as per. The software fix was to buy time and keep costs down. Im almost certain they will be repairing vs full replacement

im not going to lie its shaken my confidence in the car and product. If a buyback or similar is offered I will be taking it.

Yesterday after watching your video i checked chronologically the recall campain for chevy bolt over youtube. It started exactly the same with software updates and ended with replacement. Unfortunatly not all of the newer models (2020-2022) did get a battery replacement. What bothers me most is that by doing this software update, they reduced the overall capacity of the battery. I have an appointment at 14th this month and will monitor the battery capacity before and after the update.

To be a bit clearer, the capacity of the Bolt's battery reduced. It was only temporarily restricted, until either the pack was replaced or (later) until the car had been driven enough for the battery to be proven "good".

In any case, somebody up-thread has already reported no apparent change in range due to F56 SE software update.
 
I never got a notification from either BMW or Mini. I searched my vin in both Transport Canada and Mini web sites and found that my 2021 was on the list. Called Mini service department and got an appointment the next morning. It seemed to me that the service department was not aware of the recall until they actually checked the computer. As per the service advisor it will take a few hours, and it will be a software update. But I got the car back in about 1.5 hours. According to the advisor the reason for the fast turnover might be due to my previous service request some time in July due to an error message regarding "high voltage system" which I posted then. The software in my car could have been updated already.

According to Transport Canada, the recall was made known on June 25. 2024. I just don't understand that why the service department did not know this issue back in July when the error message appeared. Well, back then, according to the advisor the service department did a full checkup of my high voltage system, that is, the wirings, batteries and software. So, they serviced my car twice! May be I should say I got a good deal!?

Have not charged my car to 100% for a few days. But did charged it to 100% yesterday. After unplugged the connector then I noticed the L1 cable was flashing red light. But everything looks good. Have to try to recharge it again today and see what is wrong.

I'm more annoyed at the entire PR and how everything played out. If a company is going to recall 4+ years of vehicles because they could not adequately pinpoint the isolation fault(s) or loss of isolation (not insulation like media is spreading), then it was manufactured to specifications AND the specifications were inadequate.

Federal code says 500 ohms/volt AC or 100ohms/volt DC so maybe that's why 800V architectures haven't really caught on. Guess we should just stick to 12V battery fires because 12V systems only need the chassis for grounding.
 
Because every electric car website has been posting articles (more every day), I stopped at my dealer this afternoon. The service manager did some investigation and confirmed what you have been saying. Accordingly, I'm scheduled to go in next Monday for the software update. It is kind of strange that Mini did not send any information to the dealers.

I put new tread today 11:53 is something wrong or nobody open bc similar tittle but very valuable info.and nobody look at now I put pictures of my tread is info how my dealer deal with HV battery

Well my insurance company just sent me a courtesy e-mail for notice of recall. Perhaps I'll take a leisurely stroll to the letter box to see if BMWNA sent a recall notice.

Looks like your HV battery is fine and you have the extra HV safety mode installed.

I don’t know what is wrong I put new tread and is not WATCH for no reason and now I’m repeating the same crub here Today I did my recall on Rexsio and advisers keep mouth shut as they pretend knowing nothing I get car back in 1 1/2 hr I believe this is a first fix and later we going to see what follows Battery replacement very questionable at that point As I read to check battery for bad seals battery must pressurized and observe o gage drop in pressure I’m sure this will be a next step to locate those leaking batteries and can take long time to go I drove just 50 miles after fix I don’t see any difference on range Next step as I charge SE tonight I would

see how many miles shows in 100 % charge .150000 recalls worldwide as today
