Still a red base in Rome, although it has a very low VIN number so it was manufactured in early 2018. There is a black touring in Athens, according to cargurus.com it has 74 miles on the odometer for some reason, maybe from test drives or a salesperson took it home one weekend, but based on the VIN probably mfg in 10/18 which isn't bad for a 2018. And a black touring in Duluth approx mfg 9/18.Did you buy it in Savannah? I thought there was only one 2018 left in Georgia.
I saw the one in Duluth. For some reason the others didn't show on my search. Probably user error. If anyone around Atlanta is on the fence, grab these while you can!Still a red base in Rome, although it has a very low VIN number so it was manufactured in early 2018. By the way for those in other parts of the country these are all cites in Georgia, not Italy, Greece and Minnesota![]()
This sounds like a good deal. So the dealer is passing the $6,000 incentive plus $1700 off their profit ?
Your offer for $28K OTD is reasonable with TTL.
Finance/buy incentives have never been better IMO.
Yes, if you finance or buy, you qualify for the $7500 tax incentive.
When I got my 2018 base, the deals for purchase was not that good as it is now ($1000 incentive for 2018MY). However, I got $10,800 off MSRP but that's because Honda was passing the $7500 tax credit back to leases for immediate cap cost reduction, thus I got my lease for $285 / month plus monthly 9.5% tax.
Luckily, I got the $1500 CVRP rebate within 6 weeks and $1000 utility company rebate in 4 weeks... So all in all, I got a great deal....
Congrats @Ryan C !Just purchased 2019 base clarity from Diamond Valley Honda in Hemet, CA. $29882.34 OTD. Cash price was $26,601 + Dealer Accessory of $395 for total cash price of $26,996. The accessory kit was shown as $995 and includes the wheel locks, mud flaps, trunk floor protector and some door chip protection and they dropped it to the $395 above. Worked with Joe. Quick and painless. Was not happy with Riverside and Moss...they added $4,000 in dealer accessories that they said couldn’t be removed. Talked to Alex in San Diego but they are out of Claritys but are expecting 5 in August.
@4sallypat thank you. I was not super enthused when i realized the Clarity was the perfect car for me. I was of the opinion it’s the ugliest car in the world. Two days driving and I am head over heels for this car. Anyone who is uncertain just go for it.Congrats @Ryan C !
You did very well in negotiating down considering all your dealers had dealer installed add ons which is a joke IMO.
That's what I found was true - all dealers would add on thousands when in reality the items are worth 10% in their cost. Especially laughable are the "door edge protection" which are thin pieces of plastic on the door edges that you can get for $10 at an auto parts store.
Guess the dealership needs to charge $100s of dollars to install the $10 part ???
Case in point: I had a great deal at first when I dealt with Keyes Honda in Van Nuys, CA - they quoted the lowest but when you got there, they said the $2,000 add on was not part of the deal and that I would have to pay for it. I said they can keep their car and ended up at Norm Reeves Superstore and got it without a penny added on.
The current dealer incentive for California runs 7/09/2019 - 9/03/2019 although it is now $5,000.My biggest fear was the $6,000 manufacturers rebate expiring.
I know it's not the bargain you've all been getting, but I drove off with a new 2018 touring in Michigan for $30k.
Also, there is a 2018 base (red exterior, black interior) at the Schaumburg Honda in Chicago, going for $26,923. Ask for Andrea, she was probably the best salesperson I've worked with. In the end I just didn't want to do 10 hours of driving.
That was actually a very good deal, I assume that was the dealer price before TTL. Was there a $220 documentation fee added to that? I think that's the maximum in Michigan. What was your MFG date (can be found on driver door jamb.)I know it's not the bargain you've all been getting, but I drove off with a new 2018 touring in Michigan for $30k.

2018's were manufactured until sometime in December so 10/18 is towards the end of the model year. Definitely a good price, a few people got a few hundred more off, and some in California have gotten similar discounts on 2019's because of the Honda incentive there. This was before TTL. Total (before down payment and financing, but after tax/tag/title) was 32,159.64, and I got free door mats and half off the GAP coverage (not included in that figure). I didn't even know they could do that lol. The doc fee was $219. Chicago and Toledo said theirs was $180. Manufactured in October 2018.
I bought the tire warranty separately, but I haven't decided whether to keep it or not. Figure I've got a couple days to charge it back if I have to.
You have to drive a Clarity (a fully-charged Clarity, of course) to experience the joy of silent running. However, if you have a really long commute and no place at home or work to charge a Clarity, stick with your Accord. The look of the Clarity is better from the inside, but the outside look has grown on me.I have been debating getting a 2018 clarity base. I have a have 2018 Accord (12.5k miles) . The dealer offered the clarity base at 26k and trade in value of 20.5k.
Do you think that is a great deal? Do you think I should give up my accord for the clarity? I really like my accord. I don't like the look of the clarity but love the 50 mile range on battery. I can't make up my mind.
Without speaking to the price or trade in value, I would remind you not to forget to take the tax credit into account. So, if your situation is such that you can take advantage of it, you will get an additional $7,500 as a credit on your 2019 taxes. Depending on your state, there might be other incentives as well.
If you are able to take advantage of the tax credit, that would mean that the tax credit would cover the entire difference, although you’d have to pay now and get it back come tax-time. If the are state incentives, it could skew the deal even further in your favor.

Time for a 20-mile test drive. Soon you'll find yourself trying to think up a clever license plate for your Clarity PHEV.My commute is 20 miles round trip and will only be able to charge at home.
