Hyundai's are known for reliability, Tesla's not so much... Saw a 3 broke down on the 405 here in Bellevue the other day. At least his back bumper did not fall off, but it hasn't started raining yet in Seattle. Cannot wait till October, maybe I should buy a tow truck to capitalize on the broke down Tesla's? One more great week on my TSLA short, and I could get a tow truck for free...

We had similar Hyundai pests visit PriusChat who had fun until the cars started showing up. Prius owners could finally take them out for a test drive and discovered:

• stepped transmission - in contrast to the smooth acceleration of EVs and Prius, the Hyundai engine has to go through different gear ratios. Even with their single motor, it is not smooth. BTW, I tested the latest Honda Insight and they finally got it right. It is as smooth as a Prius.
• inferior instrumentation - having to look through the steering wheel tunnel but even the "MPG" gauge does not go over "99 MPG".
• inferior user mileage - comparing user reports from FULLEY data for the Ioniq Blue versus Prius Level 2 ECO, we find the Ioniq Blue is significantly worse and does not come close to the EPA rating. In contrast, the Prius Level 2 ECO is fractionally better than the EPA ratings.

Compared to the usual gassers, the Hyundai hybrids are less bad but they were late to the party. They really need another design cycle to fix their problems. As for the Hyundai fan-boys, well PriusChat had a decade of TDI advocates until the diesel cheat finally shut them up.

BOB as usual you are confusing the Kona hybrid to the Kona EV... The Kona EV has not stepped transmission, and Bjorn gave it a pretty good review, most efficient crossover in the industry...
