Kona Electric 2022 Wireless Charger Not Charging

Here is how I fixed my wireless phone charger issue. I have a 2022 Hyundai Kona Limited which is not electric but my comments should apply to electric Kona's.
My wireless phone charger was also not working after I purchased my Kona and the wireless charging option in the "Convenience" folder was not listed. After spending a lot of time researching and playing around I finally got my wireless phone charger to work by removing and re-inserting the 10A fuse for "Module 2" which was in the fuse box inside my car to the lower left of steering wheel (picture attached). This 'Module 2" 10A fuse is located on top row, 2nd fuse from the right. This also got the "Wireless Phone Charging" enable/disable box to show up in the "Convenience" folder.

Please let me know if this helped any of you out.

I took my 2022 Kona and it’s wireless charger issue to the dealership yesterday
It shorted itself out. New one was ordered by dealership. Hyundai also has a software update on wireless charger too. Take your wireless under warranty charger to dealership for repairs.

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Kona Ultimate EV 2022 a couple months ago. I've been documenting a couple weird little issues for the next time I bring the car in for service, but a couple days ago I noticed my wireless charger vanish as well. It used to be under "Convenience" but now it's straight up missing. So far I've tried :

In the fuse box below the steering wheel :
1) Flipping the main fuse switch to OFF, wait a moment, start car. Then turn off car again, and switch main fuse back on. No change.

In the fuse box in the hood :
2) I've tried removing and examining the 2 "Charger 10A" fuses - both look good and fine. Reinsert fuse and tested.

I've attached 3 pics of my two fuse covers and a pic of the screen showing the missing charger option.

I saw this so I'm going to try this later. Is there any documentation as to what "Module 2" is?

Just a follow up to my previous post... Hyundai ordered and installed the new wireless charging pad. It's working AND the wireless charging pad ON / OFF option is appearing in my Convenience folder now. Previously it was not. Apparently when the pad isn't functional, it's not recognized on the CAN bus (or something like that) and the firmware removes the wireless charger option from the menus.

Don't know why the charger stopped working the first week of ownership (brand new 2022 Limited), but service dept. told me that it was "broken".

All good now.

Hi everyone,

I have non-electric Kona and got the same issue (after 3 months my Kona suddenly stopped charging my phone and option from "Convenience" checklist disappeared). Module2 re-inserting didn't help. Dealership checked and "repaired" problem by re-inserting fuses Module5 and Memory. They told me, that Kona's computer probably hanged and this "restart" may help. Now everything is fine - charging is working and option in Convenience menu appeared back.

'22 Kona Electric SEL here. Can confirm that this method, removing/re-inserting fuses to Module 5 and the two Memory slots, kick started the Wireless Charging AND Digital Key features of which were not working previously. Many thanks, Miro1313!!!

I can also confirm this fix worked. 2022 Kona EV SEL wireless charger stopped working 3 months ago. Had to wait 2 months for dealer appt that I cancelled this morning after reading this and attempting the "fix." Read and double checked fuse diagram. Got fuse puller from engine compartment fuse box. Opened cabin fuse compartment. Pulled #5 then memory #1 then memory #2 fuses in that order then reinstalled in reverse. # 2 memory, # 1 memory then #5. It worked.
Wireless charging is operating normally.

I can confirm that this fix worked - but only when the car is turned on during the fuse pulling/replacement. I also have a 2022 Kona electric and the charging pad stopped working at about 5,000 miles. I'm suspicious about this being a tactic Hyundai uses to get owners to bring their cars in for maintenance because it happened nearly exactly at the moment that the "Time for Maintenance" alert came on.

I just followed the sequence above #5, memory #1, memory #2, replace in reverse, car not turned on, and it worked for me. Originally lost function btwn 2,500 - 3,000 miles.

Just wanted to add another confirmation that this worked! 22 Kona Electric, wireless charger stopped working about a week after I got it brand new. I did not pull them in any particular order and pulled/reset one at a time with the car off and it still worked for me.
Thanks!

I just bought the 2022 Kona Electric 2022 and the wireless charger is not charging. The orange light is not going on.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.

I saw another post on this forum and the person said to go into: /User Settings/Convenience/Wireless Charging...

I do not see anywhere in the car or the manual how to get to User Settings.

I have to say the Hyundai Manual is poorly written.

totally works on my 2022

Me too, I've owned the car for a couple of weeks and the wireless charger isn't working and doesn't show up in the convenience menu. Are the fuses easy to get out and put back in? Are they labeled clearly?

Look at the back of cover. See picture in message 43. Use the fuse remover located in the front fuse box under the hood.

Wireless charger quit on my Kona as well. I can report that disconnecting the 12v battery will fix this issue. The radio presets were not lost.

Just got back from the dealer and had both the wireless charger pad and brakes/clips replaced. For some reason they didn't even want to hear my suggestion on the fuses. My blue beauty is finally silent and at full power!

I tried this. Didn’t work. :(

2022 Kona here, and I can also confirm that this worked! Thanks @miro1314!! You’re my hero!

I have to say the Hyundai Manual is poorly written.

I'm a new Kona owner too (Aussie but born near Austria), and read this thread. I found the menus. Wireless charging is on. The manual says iPhone 6 or above. The killer is, as I found out, Apple didn't enable the iPhone 6 for wireless charging. (ROFL) You can buy a card, or cover, that plugs into the iPhone and enable wireless charging. May take a year or two to charge. Back to the trusty lightning cable for me.

PS I agree about the manual. Not Chinglis as they're Korean, so maybe Kornglish.

Had my charger replaced a few weeks back and then it disappeared from convenience and stopped working again. Just did the fuse pulls and works.

Well my wireless charger stopped working again (7/2022) and the wireless charging option in the "Convenience" folder had disappeared (not surprisingly). This time removing and re-inserting the 'Module 2' 10A fuse did not fix my issue even after multiple attempts. I then saw Miro1313 post about also removing 'Module 5' and 'Memory' and after I did this the 'Wireless Charging" check box option was now listed in 'Convenience' folder but when I placed my phone on charging pad the charging light did not turn on and there was no charging. Maybe it's a defective charging pad as another person mentioned. I scheduled an appointment on Aug 5th, 2022 with Hyundai Dealer to investigate. Will update this forum afterwards. - Gregg Furukawa.
