Thanks to COVID-19, I had to wait a year for my electric MINI Cooper SE. While I was waiting, MINI sent out a letter of apology with a matted designer sketch of the car. The dealer gave me a pair of MINI Cooper socks. (Don't ask what a matted designer is--I don't know.)
I've Googled and I think matted designer sketch means the print is in a see through envelope with a built in surround that looks like those cardboard ones in frames basically it protects the print:)

Well Norway has got their P45's on 15th May there's a video on YouTube showing them arrive
So here's the translation of the video description (courtesy of Hyundai Norway) -

The first IONIQ 5 Project 45 electric cars arrived at Drammen port on Friday 14 May.
If you are one of those who are waiting for such a launch model, you will receive your own emails when your IONIQ 5 is
(1) fully manufactured and shipped to Norway,
(2) Your Vehicle has arrived at Drammen port and
(3) when it is shipped to your dealer. Reseller will then contact you to arrange delivery of your new IONIQ 5 Project 45

Looking at the Norwegian I5 forums, Only 1 person (user name= charging bag), has confirmed they've had an email saying their P45 car has arrived at Drammen.
Obviously, not everyone uses car forums - but even so, I would have expected a higher response

Actually, If you have a look on the Norwegian car import site - elbilstatistikk.no you can see that they've only registered/imported 43 Ioniq 5's!
Weren't they supposed to be receiving around 1200 of them?

Note - the above list is just for EVs

When I wrote "matted designer print" I expected some smartypants to ask me what a "matted designer" was. Here's what MINI sent me halfway through my long wait.

The Ioniq 5 would be a much more practical EV, and even quicker in a straight line than my electric MINI Cooper, but my MINI Cooper is so much fun on the back roads it was worth the wait. For a practical EV I'll be deciding between the Ioniq 5 and the VW ID.Buzz or whatever name VW eventually attaches to their long, long, long-awaited electric bus. The designers of the Ioniq 5 were probably in high-school when VW showed their first prototype.

Unfortunately, due to supply constraints on some components, the manufacture of the Project 45 vehicles is delayed.
Production of right hand drive IONIQ 5 Project 45 vehicles is scheduled to be complete during July and allowing for shipment and inland transport we anticipate that deliveries can be completed from late August through September.
We sincerely apologise for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause. My team will remain available to you during this period and they will update you as soon as possible with a definitive delivery schedule....

Just had the following update today:-

Dear XXXXXX

We are delighted to inform you that your IONIQ 5 has entered the production process and is currently being built at our Ulsan plant in South Korea.

Once your IONIQ 5 has completed the production process it will be assigned to a ship for transportation to the UK. As soon as your car is at sea, we will update you again.

If you have any questions at all regarding the production or delivery of your car then you can contact us here at the VIP Concierge team. For any other query, such as payment, finance or adding accessories to your IONIQ 5, then your Hyundai dealer will be able to advise you.

Kind regards
IONIQ 5 VIP team

So, assuming all the RHD UK cars (estimated total 175), were to be built in the next couple of days & put on a ship within another 5 days = Jun 17th
4 weeks travel time to UK = 15th July
2 weeks processing & shipping to dealers = Possible 1st August delivery date - (1 month ahead of the original delayed schedule)

:)

I got the same email so things are looking a little better, it also said they can produce one car every ten seconds at the Ulsan plant which is 5.79 square miles but I think the Ioniq 5 P45's may come off the production line a little slower due to chip and motor shortages maybe one every 20 seconds:D

I thought the journey to the UK was 5-6 weeks (hoping not to get that pilot in the Suez).
So i was expecting/hoping for a mid August delivery but I’d be much happier if your dates are correct.
Just got to decide best way to pay for it now.

Those journey times were guesstimates so you may be right - as for getting the updates, as Michael Knight first pointed out, the UK P45 VIP team (Laura), only seem to work on Thursdays

The latest "Thursday" update from the VIP team:-

Dear XXXXXX

We are delighted to inform you that your IONIQ 5 is on its way to the UK on board one of our bespoke transportation ships operated by Hyundai Glovis.

Hyundai Glovis is part of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group and operates over 60 vessels transporting cars and trucks around the world. These vast PCCs (Pure Car Carriers) are roll-on/roll-off ships with a capacity of up to 8,000 vehicles at any one time. Loading and unloading can take up to 3 days and due to the size of the ships, only certain ports can accept them.

Once your IONIQ 5 has completed its journey to the UK we will update you again.

If you have any questions at all regarding the production or delivery of your car then you can contact us here at the VIP Concierge team.

Best regards
IONIQ 5 VIP Team

Well thanks a bunch Hyundai for NOT telling me which ship they were on, however, assuming the ship left the Busan port area sometime in the last week, the only vehicle carrier in the fleet that fitted the bill was the Asian Captain which left Ulsan on 17th June & is due to arrive at the Suez canal around 8th July, & maybe arrive at Tilbury docks around 14 days later.
{This is all speculation, so please feel free to correct me if you have better info}

I have been informed that the UK Project 45's are on board the Grande California which is a brand new car carrying ship built in China for Grimaldi Shipping of Naples and called at four ports in Korea including Ulsan on the 18th for 1 day and 10 hours, it's now left Singapore and heading for Sri Lanka where it will dock tomorrow 1st July. Obviously when it arrives at Tilbury Docks it will take a few days to unload, clear customs and check all vehicles are OK before delivery, but at least they are on their way now

Good to hear some solid info at last!
The trackers say it will leave the Sri Lankan port of Hambantota on July 3rd
It had previously been travelling at around 16 Knots, so if it kept up this pace it would take another 20 days to get to Tilbury Docks = 23rd July.
But all that's assuming it doesn't stop off anywhere else first
So in a best case scenario, Ship arrives at Tilbury 23rd July & Cars arrive at dealers 2 weeks later = 7th August :)

The ship has left Sri Lanka after a 12hr stopover and is heading for Port Sudan and then I am guessing next stop will be Saudi Arabia before heading for the Suez Canal
