Here we go again!

I think the last time I bought a physical copy of Auto Express was back in 2001 when I had the new BMW MINI on order, & it went & took all the car of the year awards - & not just from Auto Express.
Now I've got to go out & start buying Car Magazines again !!

They've also updated the arrival time of the Grande California at Tilbury.
Its now expected to arrive 2 days earlier than previously planned on July 31st
Lots more time to clean them for the event

Why didn't Hyundai build enough space in their "brand new Virtual Experience Centre" for everybody? I wonder how many virtual attendees it can handle before the limit is reached?

Remembering back to the terrible P45 launch event in February when everything crashed, (see P1 of this thread), I just don't think Hyundai are much good when it comes to virtual web stuff :eek:

Seems like everyone can now go to the virtual experience centre next wednesday as they've put up a link for anyone to register on their UK homepage.

The Grande California made its way through the Strait of Gibraltar this morning & is now on its final leg upwards towards Blighty

It is - But it wasn't on this carrier.
This ship, the Silver Ray, arrived at Tilbury over a week ago, totally under the radar.
It appears to have all the Dealer Demo's & cars ready for leasing etc - but NOT the Project 45s
The ship I'd been told had my car on board - The Grande California docked yesterday afternoon, & its this ship that had (some or all) of the 175 UK P45s on board.

Update - The Virtual Experience centre event was a bit naff - Buffered for most people & we didnt learn anything new
I was at least wanting to see the Grande California unloading cars at the docks - Very Dissappointed

No doubt Hyundai will upload a version of it to youtube in the next few days - Yippee :(
 
Wonder if they did some kind of deal to get a few seeing as they feature it at the end of their new TV ad
Quite a good ad actually - Pretty good portrayal of Brummy dealership through the decades :cool:

Just been told by VIP its now on its way:-
Dear XXXXX
We are pleased to confirm that following detailed checks your IONIQ 5 Project 45 is cleared for dispatch and will shortly be making its way to your preferred dealer. Upon arrival at the dealer, it will undergo its final Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and where, advised by yourself it will be registered and made ready for handover. Cars will be allocated in batches so there will be some variance between deliveries. Sadly, it is not possible for the VIP team to tell you when your car will arrive, but your chosen dealership will be able to. We envisage deliveries will be from next week.
We will shortly be making this information available to the dealers, and they will be able get in touch to arrange a suitable handover date with you once the car has arrived with them.
We would like to apologise for the delay in advising of this and thank you sincerely for your continued support. We look forward to delivering your new vehicle very shortly.

Here's my Test Drive vid from last Saturday - The main interior 360 camera failed after 2 secs, so I just ended up with some exterior shots

Oh, for a second there, I thought the video was of your new car. Hope you will consider starting a new thread for your car when it does arrive so continue to follow your journey.

Was hoping to get a bit more info off the dealer when I rang this morning, but as usual they've been kept out of the loop & haven't been told a thing.
...maybe tomorrow.... :)

I let my dealer know and he hadn't heard anything, he did say they usually don't hear anything until the car is assigned to a delivery with the transport firm so he is going to keep his eye on the delivery lists for my car. I had my home charger fitted today so just need my car to plug it in, I hope it will be next week but when they say delivery will start next week knowing Hyundai that could mean Friday and that's a holiday weekend
 
Looking forward to seeing some spectacular videos of it - gracefully hurtling through Cheshire's country roads :cool:

Think Shropshire must be too far into the sticks, & has probably been forgotten by Hyundai UK - I've still not heard anything, So my weekend plans are just to give my Evoque its last wash & polish before it moves on.
