HV Range Fix is out and ready for dealer install

Congrats, and welcome to the highly esteemed '357' club. It's lovely here. Mine has worked its way down to 340 today, after some HV Mode driving. The next big item of interest will be what happens with the next gas fill up. I just hope it will not spring up to an unrealistic range again.
My wife jokingly said to me, “Thanks, I just lost 650 miles of range!”

Interesting. I'm scheduled for the update to be installed tomorrow. But my car is showing 357 today!!!

No no, you can't back into the 357 club, you have to earn it!!! :)

On another note, we got our highest indicated EV range yet today, 57! I'd think it had something to do with the new HV range update, but we've had 56 a couple of times prior, so I think it was real.

Let’s see 357 m in km is 574.54
Does that mean you joined the 574 or 575 club after update?
(ie what was your HV range right after the update?)

357 still does not seem correct. From my measurements based on actual gas added to tank, my car consistently gets ~42 MPG on highway. 7 * 42 = 294 miles of HV range.

357 / 7 = 51 I don't think Clarity will average 51 MPG in HV mode even in optimal conditions. EPA rating is 40 MPG highway, so ~42 seems reasonable, 51 does not.

I also found the calculated MPG showing in trip computer was 11-12% too high. Did they also fix this calculation? The engine management computer should know very precisely how much fuel is going into the engine. In previous cars, I have found the displayed MPG to be very accurate.

I'd agree, Jim, but coming from where we came from (1,000 miles HV range), I can deal with the remaining error. :)

In airplanes, the fuel is weighed not measured. More accurate. Chefs use scales when cooking for the same reason.

But which is worse? A completely bogus reading that you always ignore, or a 21% high inaccurate reading that you might actually use to determine how far you can make it running on gas? My point is the systems in the car already know precisely how much fuel is being used and how many miles the car has traveled. It is not that hard to get the math right, and most cars seem to get this right.

I consider having 50% battery left as my "reserve tank" if I run out of gas, so HV range display is nice to have, but not as critical as in ICE car.

357 (miles) seems to be the default number that shows up after the HV range fix update is installed. It will adjust to more accurate numbers as you drive in HV and add gas. That’s why someone called it joining the 357 Club for those in the USA.

Hi all, how do I get this fix? My clarity still shows crazy high nunbers on HV range and it's very annoying. I'm in the USA.

I'm going on the expectation that it will need to have some significant sampling of gas usage that occurs subsequent to the fix, to improve the accuracy of the estimate over time - at least I'm wishing for that to happen.

Yup. Add to that once you get down to a very low fuel level, you lose total sight of the HV range anyway as it's replaced with the warning, 'Low Fuel'. So extreme accuracy probably doesn't do you much good anyway as your levels get very low.

Jordan, just call you dealer and cite him the technical service bulletin. He should be able to download it from Honda and have it installed in your car. I went to my dealer for an oil change and he had no expectation I was going to ask for this fix. As soon as I gave him the bulletin #, he looked it up and entered it on the service sheet.

If you it the "i" button on the steering wheel it takes you back to the ev/hv range screen, or whatever screen you had visible before.
