Honda Prologue Epilogue

5 people at work leased the Prologue for like $200/month. They were practically giving them away.

IMO, tax incentives were the #1 reason people went EV. 3 of my family members bought Chevy Bolts and got almost $15k back here in California. Plus, we installed our own solar at their homes so they charge for free. Makes it very cheap to drive.
 
I've seen 2 of them on the road and there's a honda dealership here in town. They just aren't moving. I'm not surprised at all that it got cut along with all the other ev's this year.

I see many more Plugin hybrids like the pilot and crv that have ev features.

I am seeing a LOT of hyundais and kias on the road, along with the typical model 3's and surprisingly a lot of mach-e's.

Other than their California-only, lease-only hydrogen-battery CR-V PHEV, Honda gave up on plug-in hybrids for NA after the Clarity PHEV didn't sell well. Spy photographers spotted a Pilot PHEV prototype, but Honda never brought it to production. This reluctance is hard to explain in light of Toyota's success with their PHEV's. Where is the Honda that produced my wonderful gen-1 Insights and my great Clarity PHEV?
 
Hrm, i must be confusing it then. My neighbor has a CRV with full electric mode. It assumed it plugged in. Maybe it's only regen based.

Yes its disappointing. Toyota sells Prius and RAV4 plugin hybrids, and 4 evs: BZ4X, BZ Woodland, Lexus RZ, and the CHR EV. Honda now at 0 in both.

Several posts have mentioned why the Honda EV Prologue had outsold the Blazer EV. Some people mentioned it was because the Blazer had competition from the Equinox. In actuality the Blazer had GM in house competition from the Lyriq, Optiq, and of course the Equinox. Of course the Prologue with much less competition within Honda was going to sell better. I have a 2024 Blazer ev, rwd, rs edition with 28,000 miles. I have had no issues except the charge door needed to be replaced after about 5,000 miles and has worked great ever since. So, one minor issue after 2 years. I would say that is really good for any new car. One other thing, my choice of the Blazer over the Equinox was because the Blazer was bigger, charged faster, drove better, had more mileagerange on a charge, and had a heads up display.

My comment was in response to speculation that the Prologue was technically being killed by GM/Chevy since it is a collaborative effort involving GM and Honda. Do you have any solid intel that GM cancelled the Prologue?

My previous remark has nothing to do with who cancelled the prologue. . However, since you asked it is well known Honda was the one who cancelled the Prologue and a 2nd ev GM was making for them.

The Bolts are not really charging for free. There is usually a large cost to initially install the solar. In Az., because of super off peak rates October thru April, I only pay about 10$ a month to charge my car at home. The other off peak rates months I pay 50$ a month. So, the yearly cost is only 360$. Being retired allows me to charge at the most advantageous times. I do average about 1,000 miles a month.

I also believe it is due of the Honda loyalty...many people I know will not buy anything but a Honda...so if they are looking for an EV they will never buy Chevrolet even if it was made by the same plant and cost a couple of thousand less....
Too bad Honda has given up on EVs in the US...might not be a good long term plan but i am biased.
