All - curious what are your thoughts on Honda's "revised" EV announcement from Friday - their new CEO clearly has a different take on Honda's future than their prior one. Definitely a little late to the EV party....despite having the 1st Insight to market in 1999 and three versions of the Clarity to market in 2017. Hopefully they can re-commit their engineers to a world-class EV platform!

Honda is sourcing their autonomous tech and next gen EV powertrain from GM. Other than Honda e, their in-house EV platform is years away from production. So I don't think they have any advantage to GM or really anyone else in EV space. They should keep working on their hybrid and PHEV drivetrain for at least one and perhaps two more generation of cars and SUVs. I think there is a lot of potential in an improved Clarity drivetrain. They can have the same level of success as RAV4 Prime by having the next CR-V and Passport with an improved Clarity drivetrain and cosmetic differentiation from ICE/HV models. It is much less likely to suddenly become a market leader in EVs in those segments.
