Subaru Is Getting It Together!
At this rate, SS batteries may not be all that important for EV's. Unfortunately, it's still a couple of years away. Maybe there will be more improvements by then.

While we really don't need PHEV's and EREV's any longer with the new EV's getting more range than ever, this one area may be an area for an EREV. This the the first motorhome of this type I have seen. We can be sure to see more and more of them in the future.

At this year’s iteration of The Quail—a flagship new exotic car show, held during Monterey Car Week—there were very few electric vehicles on offer. But on the far side of the field there was one, and it really stood out. Intended to go on sale in 2027 at a price of around $400,000, it was nearly 30 feet long, weighed 18,000 lb, and seats (well, sleeps) four people comfortably.

I face a similar problem with my SO's Caddy:

With help from a former boyfriend, she uses it to tow a trailer in her 'egg money' business:
  • Previous she had a 2014 BMW i3-REx, 72 mi EV and 80 mi gas but needed more
  • Savings over 5 years, $10,750 - $12,500
    • $12,500 (EV) - Cadillac OPTIQ
    • $12,250 (EV) - Tesla Model X
    • $10,750 (Plug-In) - Toyota RAV4
  • "Never let good enough become the enemy of perfect"
Although the EVs have ultimate cost savings, having the gas engine backup gives her an additional 160 miles range, 440 -> 600 miles. Even when using gas, the relative efficiency gain 38 MPG vs 20 MPG, gives her a substantial savings. But around town, she can use a combination of grid power, $0.12/kWh and home solar, $0.00/kWh to save money. In effect, she has a Cadillac sized BMW i3-REx.
