Yeah ahem one of the electricians I called tried to tell me I only need 8/3, only a 40A breaker, and don’t need a GFCI breaker even though I’m putting in a 14-50 receptacle. I’ve installed my own circuits and breakers before, and I heed the latest NEC even if local jurisdiction standards are lower, but to get the Quebec EVSE rebate (CA$600) needs an invoice from a licensed electrician. I thanked him and hung up, then called another electrician recommended by a co-worker, and told him I’ll gather the supplies and do the rough-in to my standards, and he can install the breaker and supply an invoice, and he said that’s a great idea. Putting in a 50A GFCI breaker, 6/3, and an industrial 14-50R.
