I just found this aerial photo of your MINI (OK, I've rolled out this photo many times before, but the first time I posted it, my SE had been sitting here for more than a month, thanks to the first wave of COVID disrupting the RORO shipping lines.)

I am bummed. I cannot believe I slept through the "Assembly in Progress" phase, only to wake up to see it is in "Quality Check."
It is like missing the birth of a child (not).
What kind of lousy parent am I missing the birth?
In the past 12 hours it went from paint booth to quality check for those tracking. I am predicting June 22nd in my grimy mitts.

I know, right? Looks like my wife and I will be doing most of the paperwork remotely while I'm in Guatemala and then I get back on a Monday morning on a redeye and go straight to the dealership.

Hah, yea I think I've seen that one before!
Believe me - I've wished many times I had access to some real time satellite imagery so I could check in on the lots there!!
I had been doing so well with my wait for the SE up until it was produced. Now I can't stop checking in on it.
I waited a year and 3 months for my Mach-E, and that was brutal on my impatience and anxiousness (totally worth it though), so I figured waiting a few months for the SE wouldn't be too bad...

It only gets worse…I’m currently trying to figure out why the vessel my SE is on has been sitting for ~36hrs outside the Panama Canal…the internet says this is normal. I’m discovering it can be much worse, during peak shipping season the wait can be over a week. I’m assuming the the boat (Hestia Leader) will still arrive at Oxnard on the 21st.

My wife was making fun of me for following the red SE. Then we went to a PCA social and she made the mistake of ragging on me for following the Mini.
One guy says he followed his 911 Turbo, Cayenne, and is now following his Taycan. He told her exactly where it was in the assembly process, when he expects it to ship and the date expects it to be in his hands. Another chimes in about the Cayman he followed, and how he plans on following the Spyder....
She rolled her eyes and said we are all geeks. She is right!!

I just remind myself that when I've ordered European made cars before I moved to the U.S., they spent 12 weeks or so on the boat alone...so it makes the wait this time much easier!

According to the week 18 schedule, I'm waiting for 5/26 ride on the Grand Cosmo, currently moored in Spain, due at Port Hueneme 6/17. I may see it by August, ugg... wish we could access the car's GPS location service utilities. I'm sure BMW and MINI can!
You should fly down to Panama and wave it your car as it goes through the locks! I spent hours at the canal just watching ships going up and down when I was done there a few years ago.

I missed a lot myself - I woke up and it was done. These are exciting times. If mine ships out in the next week or so, I'll be getting it in just about three months from order - which is fantastic for a Signature (base model, no sunroof) SE. I need to get my 240v 50a breaker / circuit setup wired up at the house now for the flex charger!

I'm hoping mine doesn't end up sitting at the VDC for an extended period. I can't imagine they're processing a bunch of cars at the moment and thus it's a pretty quick turnaround. It's due at Port Hueneme in 9 days with my dealer being about 7hrs from the port. I'm hoping to take delivery the week of May 23rd or May 30th. I just sold my 5 series this morning as the registration was due in a week or so (and California most certainly does not refund registration as I unfortunately found out years ago). Hoping we can managed on 1 car for 2-3wks.

With a 100 mile range the 32A juice box had my base red SE charged in a few hours. If you will have only the SE for an electric, it may not be worth the $$ for a bigger charger. I think i was getting 15 miles every hour with 32A.

They were referring to the included EVSE with 2023's. The Flexcharger would require a 14-50 receptacle to charge at 240V, unless you managed to purchase an additional adapter for lower amperage 240V charging (and those adapter plugs seem to be hard to come by from BMW).
Always a good idea to go for the largest wiring/circuit you can for future proofing (Much easier to upgrade the EVSE and breaker than run new wiring).
