Spotted: someone's Iconic BRG with black roof/mirrors and black tentacle spokes was northbound on I-75 just north of Atlanta at approximately 1:20 PM today!

Dang, you've got an Eagle Eye dsmels!!!

That has to be joshf2k's. His has black tentacle spokes. It looks like he also updated the tracker to show at the Dealer today 9/17. It was purchased in Nashville (Brentwood).

Soooooo awesome.

What are the next few boats out? Mine has been at the port since the 4th and my salesman just confirmed it is still at the port.

I train for moments like this by constantly refreshing Track My Mini. (It also helps when the car carrier has some eye-catching Bimmers on board.)

Given the small number of SEs being produced and arriving via Brunswick, I thought there was a good chance we might be able to identify the owner if I shared here.

Do you have to call ASK MINI to get a production date?

Track my MINI says:
SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION
The factory has scheduled production of your unique MINI.

... but that's it. No date listed.

Yes. Call on Monday and use the option to speak with a live person. They will be able to give you the scheduled production start date. About 1 week after that, mine moved to the next step and had a VIN assigned. Still waiting for ACTUAL production to start.

Snagged an image of the Apollon Highway at Galveston. It arrived at 5:30 AM this morning, 9/20/2021.

I called this morning and my order slipped a couple weeks to week 39. Supposed to start next Monday and finish October 3rd. Fingers crossed...

I'm just going to vent here...
  • 04/07/21 - Dealer ordered a "blank" SE with a requested production date in August
  • 06/24/21 - I customized the order and put a deposit down, moved to "scheduled for production"
  • 07/31/21 - Moved back to "order received" for some reason
  • 08/15/21 - Back to "scheduled for production" with a production week of 9/13/21
  • 09/18/21 - Configuration has suddenly changed -- completely different trim level and color, I call the dealer to fix it
  • 09/20/21 - Moved back to "order received", now with a production date of mid-October
I asked ASK-MINI if it was common for an order to take 6 months to even move to production, they said no that was really strange but they're powerless to do anything about it.

Thinking of just cancelling and getting a used ICE version, but I've sunk in so much time and already had the L2 charging outlet installed.

Did you call or use the online tracking?

My car is still at "Production Begins" and I was originally told it would begin the build the week of 9/26 (next week).

WooHoo. Called the 800 number. It went on the Rhea Leader 9/17 and should be in CA 10/10. Figure about 5 days to CO based on the sheet, so, if I survive the 10/15 deadline, I guess I will be able to pick it up 10/16 after I do the last PCA autocross of the season.

I wonder if mine is on the same ship, status changed today to 'in transit to destination', have to call the 800 as well

You will never see dates in Track My Mini. The current status will be active and the completed ones will be marked as such as well.

I don't regret the 51 weeks I waited (I ordered before production began and before the pandemic halted production). Hang in there, it's worth the wait! If you bought an ICE MINI Cooper, you'd always wonder if you did the right thing and you'd have to avoid reading this forum where people (including former ICE MINI Cooper owners) are praising their SE's every day.

I've wanted an electric car since GM introduced the EV1, so I basically planned on ordering the SE when it was originally announced. I waited well over a year for it, because I was already driving a MINI and knew the electric version would be excellent. It is completely worth however long it takes to get.
