Dealer just informed me that no more 2022 Mini Cooper SE are being produced

I was just informed that the Signature is going to be built in china, Signature Plus and Iconic in England. I was planning on a Signature, do I care that it comes from China?
So the electric MINI built in China will be the lowest-level trim and the Sig+ and Iconic will continue to be built on the aging (but agile) FAAR platform? But then will the lowest-level trim offer the greatest range? Are they asking customers to make a range vs. sportiness choice?

I didn't say F56.

The all new comes from China as sig in 2023.

The plus and iconic stay the same.

A friend has a 2005 996 Turbo S. 997 came out in 2005. How?

The 1999 3 series sedan is E46. The 1999 3 series coupe and convertibles are E36.

What I am saying is nothing new.

I actually hope that you are correct, as it would mean the longer range GWM SE would be available earlier than expected.

If it comes in 2023, then it will still be a 2024 model, right? The only difference is that the SE line will splinter into low-cost/long-range vs content-rich/sporty versions built on different continents.

If you're talking about a year from now ('24 model year), then sure, it's possible, maybe even probable. The previous post from sage major sounded like their dealer is telling them that the '23 model year Signatures are going to be built at GWM, which I have a hard time believing.

Nothing another few months won’t solve when new SE owners start tracking their ‘23 shipments.
How long before it will be US east-coast electric MINI customers who are impatiently waiting for ships traveling through the Panama Canal?

So - I got my build sheet from the dealer for my '23 and I've got a question:

It lists BRG paint as a $550 charge/option, but I've never seen anything that mentions an upcharge for paint color on the SE (website certainly doesn't show it).

The only "paid" option I selected was the Mini Yours Leather Lounge seats, which I did know went from $500 to $750 for the '23 model year.

The $550 listed for BRG paint looks like it did increase the overall MSRP by $550, has anyone else experienced this? Is it new for the '23 model year? I'm waiting on confirmation from my salesperson...

Also curious if other build sheets actually show the Harmon/Kardon sound system. I told them I definitely wanted/needed it, in case their were additional chip shortages, I would NOT take a credit for it.

@marvinq recently showed a dealer build sheet indicating 3 metallic colors for the 2023 Signature trim: Moonwalk Grey Metallic, British Racing Green IV Metallic, and Midnight Black II ("metallic" isn't part of that color's name on the sheet). Does your dealer claim that anything metallic--including BRG--is $550 extra? Or is BRG the only additional-cost paint? What about the newly available Island Blue (if you're ordering Sig+ or Iconic)?

For 2023, does the Piano Black Exterior trim finally include the waistline trim or is that still more than $600 extra if you want to get rid of all the chrome trim?

Will update once I hear back from the dealer. They hadn't indicated any pricing changes (other than Lounge seats) when going over changes (they did mention those paint options as well).

My understanding is that the Piano Black Exterior is the same as 2022, just defaults to that now instead. Would love if it included the waistline trim, but doubt it does. Does Mini offer an option to black that out as well, or is your $600 mention just to have a shop do it/DIY it?

Interesting to compare to my 2021 build sheet. Basically the same price except for the BRG charge.

It looks like the base model price has gone up by $4000, but the Iconic upgrade went down by $4000? That would make sense since things like the bigger screen are now standard for every level. The MINI Yours Leather seems to have increased by $250. I wasn't charged for Chili Red, don't know if charging for BRG is new. Chili Red is the only non-metallic color.

Also, here's the full list of metallic colors:

A62 White Silver metallic
B71 Moonwalk Grey metallic
C2M Island Blue metallic
C3B British Racing Green IV metallic
C3Y MINI Yours Enigmatic Black metallic
C4R Midnight Black II

Thanks for posting that, nice to compare!

Yea - I was told no pricing changes other than $250 more for Mini Yours Lounge seats, so was surprised by the BRG metallic charge.

My dealer also updated this weekend that 23 is available to order, build in march/apr and delivery in jul, aug. Even though he said May earlier, I was suspecting no next year model arrives until aug/sep. Now my suspicion was right. He is behind my back if I want to order and now I am in 2 minds about this, cant wait that long without a car, now that very likely have to return to office in Apr

I did not have to pay extra for my 23 BRG paint.

Dealer confirmed no charges for paint options. The $550 listed is apparently an error in their pre-build for the '23 (maybe exclusive to the Iconic Trim? I dunno).

I did find it interesting that he thought it could be an April build/May Delivery timeline... Seems a bit optimistic to me.
