2021 Kona - 200,000 Kms (~125,000 miles). Battery reads at 97%

12v battery replaced warranty
front steering linkage issues done under warranty

I figure I've saved $31,000 in gas vs my old minivan (12L/100km, gas is $1.30 per Litre on average)

We are at a crossroads, as we have not had any major repairs yet, and are wondering if we trade it in for something new (this would go down as the best car we've ever owned), or just keep driving it until the GRU or battery gives out... Any advice?

PS: We've always charged our battery to 100% every night, with a Class II charger

That is a tough one I also had to deal with.
I personally went the replace route. My 21 was also a great car, but lacked features I wanted (V2L, power liftgate, more room) and am equally happy with my 25 MY. Good luck what you decide and be sure to post a picture if you do indeed follow the same path.

Just was wondering what other people's Kona's mileage are at and if they are seeing issues with them. Might help to track down when certain issues pop up or when to look for them. We just got our Kona the end of September, so we don't have many miles, but my wife will be putting approx 3000/month on it so it'll probably hit higher mileage than most other Kona's.

Current Mileage: 2400 miles
No issues so far.

2021 Kona Preferred, with 89,986km on ODO. No problems.

2019 Kona, 86000 miles. W bought the car in April and by December of 2019 I detected the "wheel of fortune" sound. It was very faint and hard to hear unless you were listening for it. We took the car in at least 3 times over the next 4 years but they still couldn't hear it. It finally got so loud you'd have to be deaf not to hear it, so we brought it back in and we now have a new gearbox and traction motor. They replaced the gearbox first but that didn't do it, so they replaced the traction motor and that did the job. I didn't have any issues with the car and it drove fine all this time.

The battery was replaced in November of 2021 under recall. We never had any issues with the battery either. They tested the pack and determined it needed to be replaced.

Other than those two issues, we haven't had any other problems and I'd have to say it's probably the best car I've owned. I put solar on my house in 23 and we don't even pay for the electricity any more (with the exception of long trips).

I bought a new Ionig 5 last month and my wife wasted no time in claiming it. Were keeping the Kona as a second car that I'll use when she's out by herself in her new car. I guess It's not "my wifes Kona" anymore. It's "my Kona".
