Collision Mitigation System Problem and LKAS Problem and ACC problem and Road Departure Mitigation Problem

I got a barrage of dashboard warnings this afternoon and I have no idea what triggered it or what the problem is. Has anyone else experienced all these warning signs all at once? Is there a way to avoid taking it to the dealer? Any DIY fixes would be greatly appreciated or at least an explanation of what could be causing it. I was able to get home okay with no apparent problem driving the car. It's just unnerving seeing all these warnings out of nowhere all at once.

You're reporting the classic signs of a Clarity PHEV with a failing 12V battery.

A failing 12v battery has been known to cause a multitude of dashboard warnings, so that may be a good place to start looking for the cause. Many auto parts stores will load-test the battery for you for free. If it is the 12v battery, a prior thread on this site provides suggestions for battery replacement alternatives. Costco and Walmart appear to be the most popular choices for buying a replacement.

Edit: @insightman posted just before I did.

Do you think it's safe to drive as is until I figure out what's causing it and how to fix it? I can manage without those features, but just wonder if it's a sign of a bigger problem.

It isn’t a fair question to ask a member of this forum if your car is safe to drive. You’ll have to use your own judgment to make that decision.

As previously mentioned, twice, a likely cause is a failing 12V battery. Having replaced a 12V battery in a Clarity, I can tell you that all of those warnings appear once the car is powered up with the new battery. They will all clear after a few minutes.

Did the warnings clear on your vehicle?

Follow the advice provided. Have the battery tested, or just get a new one and install it.

Many people think that the 12v battery could not be at fault because it just work a few minutes ago. But I experienced that for myself. It can suddenly fail with no indications at all. The system is looking for a certain voltage when powered on and if it's not good enough at that moment then it shows a lot of faults, that's because all those systems need 12v to operate. I always carry one of those 12v lithium battery jumpers in my car now in case I run into a similar issue.

Low voltage out of range can cause things like this - your lights work/etc but sensitive electronics that expect an exact voltage for communication is out of range and fails.

Do you have someone who would bring you tools and a new battery if you get stranded away from home?

This happened to me and it was the 12v battery. Car started and then when I turned on the seat heater all kinds oif warnings and car wouldn't go.

I took my car to an automotive place today and they checked the battery and it's still very good. I had replaced it in 2025. Any other ideas what could be causing those dashboard warnings? I could take it to the dealership, but it's such a long drive and it always turns into an all-day event while they diagnose.

Maybe it is possible that the camera behind the rear view mirror is starting to fail..... I have not had that issue but I know that others here have.

It also might be the radar unit behind the front badge.. I think these warnings have been reported by owners when it has been covered in snow.

Edit: should of started with this, you can buy a cheap OBDII reader (well less than $50). But get the one/ones known to work with Clarity that have been discussed on this forum, and pull codes. If any. Once you get the code, google it/them. To see what if any might make sense.

With my conventional cars when I have an 12v electrical problem, I sometimes pull fuses one at a time to see if a problem goes away. Its kind of time consuming process but has yielded fixes for me in the past (and of course in the case of a bad fuse, helped me find it and replace it).

caveat: I don't claim to have much experience with cars and/or car repair. If it were me, I might also take it to a Japanese car repair shop in my town that has been good to work with and have them help figure it out. Or I guess a dealer. (my own dealer has not been good to work with, but some are good).

My 2018 Honda Clarity (base model) started to show these exact warnings 2 weeks ago. We had a heat wave in the Bay Area (Northern California) during that week too. I rebooted the system (disconnecting the 12V battery) and, then replaced the 12V battery -- it's about 4.5 years old, but the warnings were not cleared. I took it to a Honda dealer yesterday. They charged me $260 for the diagnostic: DTC U3000-49, and quoted $2600 to replace the multi-purpose camera and perform dynamic+static calibration (on top of the diagnostic fee). Yikes! That's a lot! I decided not to fix it yet. I am considering my options. I may try this repair: Honda Acura Monocular Windshield Camera Repair LKAS ACC U3000-49. I think I found it on some forums or postings.
