Welcome to the nightmareMy cold air just went out and I haven't had time to take it in yet. Just discovered this poll... Yikes.
Hey Guys,Son of a B..... My AC went out today, just 23 days after getting a new condenser put in. I hit a semi-big hole where I could hear the bottom of the car scratching the pavement, but nothing even in the galaxy of a major amount. A light tap, I would call it. The next morning - the AC is blowing warm air.
I just got the damn thing replaced. Now I have to go back to the dealer, and pray it's another condenser. If not, I will have to do like others have done and beg Honda to pay for a percentage of a broken evaporator or whatever else the hell it is.
This is infuriating. I just got the damn thing fixed. Uuuurrrrgggghh. With luck, I will be changing my vote to 2 condensers replaced in the near future. So they can install another defective condenser in my car. I want to punch something![]()
Or the evaporator of Damocles. May your good luck with that part continue.Hey Guys,
I finally got around to getting my ac looked at by the dealer. I've already had the condenser replaced for free in the past.
Anyway, they came back and said that both the condenser and evaporator are leaking. They swapped out the condenser for free, but didn't fix the evaporator. After 3 months of summer heat, it's still going strong today.
I'm hoping that they were either incorrect; or the evaporator leak is extremely small, as they wanted $3,100 to swap the evaporator, which I can't and won't pay for an 8 year old car with no guarantee that it won't crap out shortly after it's put in. They also replaced all seals and evacuated/refilled the 123yf refrigerant.
I'm living under the sword of Damocles, but still living![]()
