The only thing you left out of your excellent list was "a primary focus on the UK/European market."

I suspect the U.S. page is just an abbreviated list so far. I certainly hope so! OTOH on the Kona EV Ultimate they left off several desirable features available elsewhere in the world, like front parking alert and folding outside mirrors.

Meanwhile, while waiting for more U.S. details, I fiddled with the Canadian feature list, and came up with these features in the Ultimate package that are either upgraded from (italics with differences underlined) or unavailable in other Preferred levels.

I sure hope they don't make U.S. buyers lug around two motors in order to have rain sensing wipers, Homelink and wireless phone charging.

Does Hyundai believe US/Canadian customers would not be willing to pay for extra features? Why not put every Ioniq 5 feature on a Project 45 for North America and see how it sells? Isn't feature-loading how car-makers traditionally maximize profits?

Ya, there are just so many annoying "missing" bits and combinations (or lack of them) that almost all trims are disappointing in some way. Video and the internet have really spoiled the ability of manufacturers to trim features for regional markets. These days everyone knows what they're missing.

As a Canadian, it's kind of a pain that the options are basically the same spec car with whatever either RWD or AWD or small battery RWD... Or go up to the LR AWD and buy one big "Ultimate" package that has all of the marketed goodies. There is nothing in between. Also, my 2006 Altima has auto power up and down on both front windows. How is the auto passenger window a premium feature to put only in the ultimate package?

At least all of our trims get a heat pump :)

The Ultimate package includes an "8-way Power passenger seat with power lumbar." All the Preferreds have an "8-way power driver’s seat with height adjustment and 2-way power lumbar." Multiple reviews mention leg rests on both driver and passenger seats.

So why is only the driver's seat "Premium Relaxation Seating"?

And is the driver's seat really the best place to nap on a long trip?
 
Here is an update on Canadian deliveries. I reserved the day reservations opened. In early July my dealer here in Toronto told me my car was to be built in August and delivered in the fall. Yesterday he told me that I was number 97 on a list of 600 pre-orders and that my car was now scheduled to be built in November. While he was optimistic that the car would be delivered this year he did admit that it was quite possible that it would be next year. Very disappointing. He did not say whether or not any of the cars destined for Canada were built in August but that seems unlikely to me if I am in the first 100. I suggest all of you who have confirmed orders should check in with your dealers as it now appears they have some actual information.

I preorder mine beginning of June and my dealer told me they will start to build it in September. And he said I should expect 3 months delay after they start building it. So if this happens, I will have my car in December.

Jacques, you should reconfirm that schedule with your dealer, if you have not already done so. Do you know where you are on the preorder list?

The pre-order webpage quietly changed the expected delivery window from this Fall to Spring '22 weeks ago.

Oh, and unless Hyundai has changed the way it operates (and there's zero evidence of that) your order number means less than nothing. People who order in October will get their car before you do.

Which dealer are you working with. Ive got Queensway Hyundai and they were rude when I called to ask if they had info a few weeks ago.

So, what you are saying is, given Hyundai’s track record, it’s quite possible I will be looking at a Summer ‘22 delivery? Wonder what the wait time is on a Y?
 
I have 3 reservations in 3 different states but 1) NO pricing info at all 2) Zero idea on availability 3) No idea what, if anything the reservation gets me since dealer can still gouge me====I just purchased an ID.4 1st ed demo and i will be getting refund of Hyundai deposits. I will laughing at Hyundai when the Chinese come to NA to crush them.

Hi Heilbron. No I don't know, but I must be in the first ones to preorder. I was checking Hyundai site every day. I will check with them tomorrow.
 
@Heilbron do you know the date of your reso? Mine was June 2nd, in the morning. With that said, I feel like cars will be delivered in BC weeks before ours are delivered in Ontario. So regardless of reservation number, I think we will just be part of the first group of allocation.
