All the cabin electronics are still using 12V. I'd imagine like the i3 the positive wire connects with the HV battery via the electric motor electronics (EME). You would have to take off the engine cover on the MINI Cooper SE and follow the orange wire from the 12V battery.

The sad thing is I just bought this car 2 weeks ago, so not even sure if the dealer would fix this/reset ecu under warranty or not...

That's a great question on the warranty. I can't imagine the fix would be free, but surely they can solve the software issue. Unfortunately, I would hope they don't say you've voided that part of the new car's warranty.
