That's odd considering the response from your dealer regarding replacements was both earlier and more positive than mine was.

Yes, when all is said and done with the battery replacement saga I think we'll find that the biggest constraint in getting the recall completed will not be battery supply but battery-handling-equipment supply. I hope it's a wake-up call to Hyundai that "authorized" EV dealers need to invest in their infrastructure and that Hyundai needs to supply them properly.Contacted Q3 ,2021 by dealer to bring the Kona in for a battery replacement.They didn't have one,so I declined after reading the bricking for months horror stories.Same dealer in Q1,2022 ,Hyundai informs me they DO NOT have the necessary equipment to REPLACE my yet to arrive battery. Four dealers later who can sell,but were incapable of REPLACING the battery,the battery is now replaced as of Q2, 2022. It was determined in the "scan/firmware update" my EV qualified for a replacement back in Q1, 2020. I have waited since then to potentially not catch fire as Hyundai authorized dealerships to SELL their EVs,but not replace the very thing that makes it an EV,the Li-ion
The battery does look "different" since I don't recall seeing plugs(?)on the surface with the original Li-ion.I tried to look for a OE tag,but on first glance don't see one to see who manufactured the recall battery.
Why HMC didn't just order from SKI in 2020 for their global recall once it knew they couldn't avoid the physical defect in the LG packs doesn't build back much confidence . As another forum member remarked,Hyundai didn't prioritize their recall as they produced the Kia 6,and Ioniq 5.This is problematic for me,compounded by the incapable dealership who sat on my Li-ion recall,with Hyundai knowing they couldn't execute it,and doing NOTHING.
I will need to do some highway driving to see the kWh efficiency,especially the charging curve on DCFC,HPC like EA if it's part of a route.

So, like mine, the estimated delivery date was pretty accurate. That's good. Maybe Hyundai has finally been able to establish a supply chain without kinks and gaps? Hoping the lessons they've learned over the battery shenanigans carry over into the rest of their business.
I got my $815 within the window they quoted. Good luck with the new battery.
I think the consensus was that the bare aluminum is more visible because some cosmetic, black tape has been eliminated from the newer batteries and that it seems to be a few millimeters deeper than the original. Small changes make a big visual difference, eh?
May 10 and we just had our battery replaced in our 2019. Hyundai booking contractors phoned us in February and booked us in for the battery replacement - we were super excited but when we arrived on our appointed day we found out they didn't have the battery only a bag of nuts and bolts. Now several months later we finally have it installed just today! woohoo pretty happy about this being finally done. The battery arrived in Prince George (BC) three weeks ago but the dealership did a dry run on its demo Kona EV and figured out right away that their hoist would not work. We then waited for the dealership to order and received extensions for their hoist to make it big enough to be able to disconnect the old battery and install the new one. I am pretty happy with the staff at our dealership but definitely not impressed with Hyundai Canada. We are also still dealing with "National" over the $850 for waiting so long for this recall to be done. Oh and the time has disappeared from the display all we see are dashes where the time used to be. I cycled through all of the menus and nothing else seems to have changed but the missing clock. Really miss the clock so I will be having to follow up on that. Has anyone else had a missing clock after the new battery install?
I kind of like it the way it is (without the black tape). Matches the silver detail on the bottom of the doors
