Might not be anything wrong with the 12 V battery. I was getting that error frequently at one point and it turned out the buttons on my key fob were being pressed while in my pocket when I was sitting in my office, keeping the SE active. I now take the key out of my pocket and haven't had the issue.
I've had that intermittently since the car was new. Once while the dealer had it, after which they stopped telling me I must have been doing something wrong. If it happens while plugged in for a timed charge, the car won't charge. I fitted a 12V battery logger in December and am awaiting the next incident. Viewing logs, it does appear that the car will often have fits of waking frequently when it shouldn't.
Mine will do it with the fob in a cupboard or just completely out of range.

I sold BMW I3 with 7 years old battery which was only 20 Ah as I was monitoring that battery for last few month was always 14.4 volts in a morning.SE 12V battery is 50 Ah compared to I3 is a monster size as both cars have the same equipment. 12 V battery is automatically charged through DC to DC system from HV battery if car is plug for charging or not as long the system operate correctly and 12 V battery is not a lemon I will not be worry about it as the oldest SE is about 5 years old I doubt if anybody replaced yet. I belive at dealer OM AGM - 12 V battery is about $450
They do exist and I considering switching to one, but price was too high. Certainly lighter than a lead-acid battery, but since the SE uses a relatively small AGM battery maybe the weight difference wouldn't be significant. What's the downside? Maybe the way the SE keeps the 12 V battery charged to 100% would be detrimental?
The mini cooper SE uses a 50 Ah AGM Absorbed Glass Mat battery for its low-voltage system 12 v. For starting and powering accessories as HVB pack is a lithium-ion battery just to straight this opinion.
As I’m using AGM 12v batteries for many years on gas cars they never fail in 5 years as a precaution I always change them after 5 years if I keep car that long ? but as I said before i3 20 Ah survive 7 years in SE 50 AH should last longer as powering the same equipment of SE with weight of 40 lbs to 20Ah 20 lbs as we talking about lighter lithium- ion 12 v. Batteries and more expensive too I wish to loose 25 lbs on my body weight to compensate heavier AGM B to lithium-ion . Price is very important . Why SE have 12 v battery on driver side do not try balance a weight of a car as we drive that car mostly as a single occupants should be on passenger side
Answer from the country where our SEs were made: "It was balanced until you made us move the driver to the wrong side."
