My MA called me Monday morning and said he could get me in today, Thursday. I asked what time and he said anytime after 9 AM [groan]. Oh. So basically it’s a walk-in. Great. So fighting traffic at rush-hour to get to that shade dealership, I pulled in at around 9:15 and they took my fob almost right away and then set me up with the refreshments bar in a comfortable quiet place to sit with some Downtempo lounge music. My car was pulled out of the staging area just around 10 AM for what should’ve been a half hour job to install the mudflaps and 10 minutes to fix the AGS. And about every 45 minutes after that, the essay waddled over to me with a sheepish grin, trying to explain That she didn’t really know why it was taking so long. Finally, she was able to tell me at 11:40 am that the clip on the shutter itself was broken and they’d have to track down a whole new shutter and get authorization from BMW to replace it; I was ready to stand up and yell that I had pointed out the loose shutter to the delivery genius when I picked the car up August 5, but she said it was just all formalities so it’s a matter of going through the steps to get the authorization. Of course it was lunch hour so by the time authorization came back, they then had to track down the part. They finally found one in stock in Toronto, and it should be in tomorrow at which time she’ll call me to set up another appointment. I was back in my car just after 2 pm.That is a dealership level failure.
I hope it doesn't take that long to change the oil in my SE when I take it in for its 2-year maintenance. Today, I received another reminder that's what they plan to do when I show up at Motor City MINI on October 6th.I pulled in at around 9:15... I was back in my car just after 2 pm.![]()
That reminds me of when I showed up for my "second date" after getting the SE, the MINI person seemed genuinely disappointed they couldn't fill my gas tank.I hope it doesn't take that long to change the oil in my SE when I take it in for its 2-year maintenance. Only if you like hanging out at your dealer or have questions and/or issues. It's basically MINI's way of building customer relations after you buy a car. It's really geared for new MINI owners, I think. Since I like hanging out at my dealer I went, and I did get a few questions answered. Although as an early SE purchaser the dealer wasn't well-versed in the SE yet.i got the second date email - any point to it?
will break 900 on the drive home from work tonight….Of all us QC survivors, who has the most miles?
I doubt I do, just crossed 1000 last week I think. Just normal driving so far.
Depending on who has more miles to drive each day, my wife or I will take it.
I’ve had the car 10 weeks now, and she still hasn’t had her first familiarization drive. There’s no way I’m swapping rides with her!
I was so happy two years ago when my wife returned from her first solo MINI Cooper SE drive. She doesn't do manual transmissions and all my fun cars over the years have had a stick. That day, for the first time, my wife got to drive the fun car in the family and she loved it. She still loves it.After 19 months, my wife still hasn’t driven the Mini. She is afraid of getting the first scratch or ding on my toy.

I am afraid she’ll get the first scratch or ding on my toy! I don’t get it, she’s a very careful and conscientious driver, but she is a parking lot door ding magnet. I’m probably going to buy an Eastwood paintless dent remover kit soon. After 19 months, my wife still hasn’t driven the Mini. She is afraid of getting the first scratch or ding on my toy.

Each to his own. Two years after taking delivery, I imagine there are some forum members who wish I'd find this forum less compelling because they find my continuing anti-hood scoop rantings tiresome.I am thrilled with my car but the Inside EVS forums are nowhere near as compelling now.
Just checking in with everyone - I am thrilled with my car but the Inside EVS forums are nowhere near as compelling now. Will likely hit 2k miles today or tomorrow and took my SE on its first roadtrip last weekend 400 miles roundtrip. The stops were nowhere near as painful as I anticipated (except for one where I discovered that despite having multiple cords, the staion could only charge one vehicle at a time). On the way home I was thrilled to see more than a dozen ev's charging at a Walmart in Waco (fortunately I was lucky and did not have to wait) but the fact that there are so many ev's out there gives me hope for more charging stations.
Other than that all my charging has been at home on a 110 outlet - I keep thinking I will add a 220 outlet but so far haven't had the need.
I even am getting the State of Texas rebate - $2500!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their car!

Don't believe the GOM, watch your battery percentage. You'll develop a sense of how far you can actually go based on SoC % in short time.Love the car but honestly my biggest pet peeves are topping out at 95 (90 with CC), and the infotainment system always switching to CarPlay anytime I’m sitting in the drive through and I open up Facebook or something.
That’s for me to know and you to…Hmmm. If you click "Like" on this post does that mean you liked my post or that you liked the idea I should post less?
