Well, it’s in the NEC and CEC, so technically yes — unless you hard-wire an EVSE that normally comes with a plug, like the Grizzl-E and others. That said, local codes tend not to specify it yet, and my electrician — while admitting he was aware that it was indeed in the national codes — said it was the first time he’d installed a 50A GFCI for an EVSE.Do you even need a GFCI breaker
