My 3D-printed bracket will be up for sale soon, as I went with a Grizzl-E instead of the Flex. I also have the EasyEV holster that came with the Grizzl-E available (I installed two of their heavier-duty holsters, indoors and outdoors). The BMW-supplied bracket will be sold with the Flex.
 
Salesperson said he didn't know much about it and would do some research. The next day they found one.

Why the grizzl e. Aren’t the charging specs on the flex charger pretty much the same?
 
Pretty much, I reckon. But physically, the Grizzl-E is beefier, and sits solidly on the wall. I also paid $50 more to get the “Smart” version that works with ChargeLab (and possibly other apps and integrations). And finally, the charging cable is 24’ long instead of 6m (19’8”) on the Flex. It just works better for my situation.

I was looking at getting the outdoor version eventually. Once I get the car!

Flexcharger will eventually be relegated to “spares” if I need to charge elsewhere

The reason I chose the Grizzl-E was twofold: really solid internal design (i.e., rugged), and designed for subzero weather. I haven't had any problems with a stiff cable in -20 ºF or lower temperatures.
 
Only 10A on L1 is kind of a bummer. I guess they decided it’s better to err on the side of safety given the amount of old and substandard wiring in the US.

Also the cable attaching to the wrong side is hilarious. I laughed out loud when seeing that. Really, how did they miss such an obvious flaw….?

All in all, an excellent EVSE so far. I love the modular approach, though their prices for the plug attachments can exceed $200 (!!!). Tesla sells those attachments for $35-50.

A little perplexed at why they chose to include such a premium charger product for free while cutting out stuff like the heated steering wheel. Different chips maybe?

At least you have the comfort of knowing your heated side mirrors are always turned on (using how many Amps?).
 
More tangential blah blah, but the other night I left a wedding reception around 11:30 pm and it was the first cool, fall-like evening here. It was around 50° when I walked up to my car and it was covered in condensate. As I slipped behind the wheel while pushing the Start toggle, it didn’t even occur to me I’d get heat (CC set to 70°). Before I buckled in and released the parking brake, the heat was already blowing and the glass was cleared. Alls I can say is my 29 year old Crapolla can’t do that.

As heat exchange pump works so well in those temperatures 50-32’F try in 20 ‘ F and you see a difference at time you clear those windows only at ACE car you do this quite fast as they waist so much heat .

My first experience with a heated steering wheel was in my 2012 Leaf. It was also an option on my 2017 Bolt. Sadly Mini did not offer it in 2021. I would have upgraded to iconic if that was the only way to get one. I loved having it and sorely miss it now that it’s gone. When the temps get down below -20F, I would still drive comfortably without gloves. It was so nice.

I occasionally wonder whether I could buy a 2023 steering wheel and somehow make it work with my 2021.

I’ve never had a car with a heated wheel. They were either not optioned on the used cars, not available, or deleted because of the chip shortage. Does anyone know if the heating element guts are in the wheel to possibly add functionality later?
 
The switch is embedded in the column, but I have no idea if the harness is sitting there under the shroud on those cars without the switch.
 
You all talking about the heated steering wheel is really adding salt the wounds of us who had theirs cut due to chip shortages!!!

Yep. The red base had it, and my wife after the first use said it is a requirement for her next car. I am bummed it isnt on the blue plus.
